Marina Ace has sailed...anyone's car on it?

My S was built last week and is already on the Marina Ace which left Emden during the night. ETA Brunswick is the 23rd. Anyone else have their car on it?

Not sure.... I have the VIN# on a car that was built on 8/22. However, my dealer does not have vessal info? Did you dealer informed you of the vessal name?

Yes my dealer informed me of the ship name, eta etc. I'd get onto them and ask.

I would have thought that your car would be on an earlier vessel?

I don't know about mine. I was expecting that my car would come through Davisville, since that is quite a bit closer than Brunswick. I think the Shanghai Highway should be leaving from Emden to Davisville by Monday. (hard to say because VW logistics hasn't updated their online schedule, but the Shanghai Highway is on its way back to Emden right now)

m5_2010, I wonder why your car wasn't on the Seven Seas Highway which left Emden on the 31st of August and arrived Davisville a day or two ago (and left Davisville today). You're sure it wasn't on that one?

I have my VIN also. With Mercedes and BMW, once you have the VIN you can lookup the vessel yourself.

I don't know how to do that with VW/Porsche. Can anyone help with that?

Get the ship name from your dealer. To track the vessel I use http://www.vesselfinder.com

Your dealer should know the vessel name. Hope this helps.

My dealer seems bothered by requests like this. I keep hearing "your car will be here by the end of the month".

No response yet to voice mails and emails asking for something more precise than that.

I've sent you a pm. It sucks that one becomes beholdent to the dealer. To keep you informed of any status changes on your order is/should be a part of their job.

Yeah, what am I going to do at this point? Start over with another dealer? :) They get no more money for taking the time to go look this up.

I understand. I'm sorry you're having this hassle and hope it won't detract from the overall experience. The consolation is that your car will be fantastic and you're going to love it. I drove one at Barber and was stunned at its performance.

Well, you're awesome for taking the time to confirm the status for me. It sounds like our wait is almost over, maybe two more weeks.
