Keep car clean syndrome?....991 Porsche's gift!

I'm one of those afflicted by the "keep clean car syndrome (kccs)" and like so many here wash the car once a week. It's sort of meditative as well.

One of the things that really bothered me about washing my previous 997's and 997.2's were those areas where water would gather and not be accessible when wiping down the car. The mirrors, certain as of the front and rear lights, indicators, etc come to mind. So you'd dry the car, drive it and notice that the doors would be covered with water droplets and spray that you couldn't have gotten to. To someone with kccs this was a major pain which could only be avoided by using a leaf blower or having the lungs of an elephant!

Well, the solution is in the 991! Porsche designers obviously had the kccs sufferers in mind when they designed the car. I've noticed that there are none of the hassles mentioned above. So Porsche, here's a thank you from all of us who spend many moments with bucket and sponge in hand! :D

I so relieved. There's a name for it. I thought I was suffering alone. Well I'm going back to finish drying the inside of the wheels.

I LOVE IT!! I can stop calling it OCD and start calling it KCCS.

As much as the 991 design is improved for us with KCCS, I still like to use my leaf blower on the car to get as much water as possible out of those unreachable crevices.

I keep thinking one of these day I will drop that leaf blower on the car... I could trip, have a minor stroke, earthquake...

...what you need is more power, strap one of these babies to your back and while falling down may be an issue, dropping it on the car won't be..

I have an earlier model and while cleaning up the yard it occurred to me that it would be perfect for the 991. It is. Dries it in seconds.

mdc, I did just that on my GT3!... The flipping blower switch got knocked on whilst my grip wasn't quite firm enough...luckily no damage except to my pride! What a plonker!!! As it was the wife and nephews thought I was anal idiot to use a blower, then they see me almost ruin the car and in the process get myself blown into a thorny bush!

HA HA HA, fly! good one. One time on the way to work, I could see how dusty the dash was because of the low morning sun. I debated in my head if I should turn around and wipe the dash... but I force myself to keep heading to the office. Instead, I drove straight to the nearest Target, waited for them to open at 8:00, bought a duster ad start dusting the car in the parking lot.

Glad there was no damage to your GT3, I can imagine how you feel at the point of impact.

I thought I was a sick one, but now I am not alone. Good, I am going outside and clean the air con ducts with Q-Tips.

And you should all remember that a clean car can be good for the whole family as small hands can get in small places.
