Luggage compartment won't open

Hello all. I just got my 911 a few days ago and my goodness this is such an amazing car. I will make a new thread in a few days with full impressions and pics. One thing that is bothering me though, my frunk won't open when I wave my hand under the logo and above where the license plate would be. I have the easy entry / premium package plus, and I got it to work once, but I cannot replicate it. I'll have the key right in my pocket or even in the hand being used to wave on the hood. The car will be unlocked when I do this. My hand is very close to the actual car, even rubbing as if I'm waxing the car, right over the location indicated in the manual. Btw, the hood will open when I press the button physically on my key fob.
Anyone have this problem?? I'm thinking I should take it to the dealer.
Also, does anyone else's glove compartment look slightly crooked compared to the cup holder aluminum trim strip? Mine has a gap in between the top left of the glove compartment and the aluminum trim, but that gap slowly decreases in size as you go right. I can take a pic if that doesn't make sense.
Thanks for any help and happy thanksgiving!
Edit: see my question in post #8!

Good morning,

I still don't have my 991, but on my A8 there is a Valet button in the glove box, and if it's active, the trunk won't open, unless you use the key fob....Again, this may not help you at all, but it's the only thing I can think of...if the 911 has that function...

Try gently touching the bumper below the symbol. This should work. BTW does it open fom the fab or from the release in the car.

Have you tried your other key fob to see if there is any improvement?

I have also found that the best area is below the emblem (approx 2 inches below the seam with the bumper).

As for your trim, take it back in to the dealer for an easy hinge adjustment.

Had the same problem with luggage compartment. Try making sure key is not in car and rather in your hand or pocket and it should open by gently pressing the area below the crest. Hope this works for you.

Hmm I'm going to try using the other key fob. Maybe the battery came low in the one I was using? I know my hand placement is not the problem, nor is the distance my hand is from the car (given all the hand smears - its like I've been giving the hood a deep tissue massage). Oh and the key fob is in my pocket or hand while I have been trying to open it.

Valet button - I wonder if our cars have this feature, I'll check it out now!

Waving hand near logo doesn't work....and the video posts on line is misleading. Face the car, put the fob in your pocket (not obstructed by a cell phone) and place your palm on the bumper in front and to the left of the logo.
there is porsche online video that is misleading as it shows a guy opening the trunk by touching the logo.

Rnl, your advice was spot on. I thought you had to wave instead of keeping your hand still over the sensor. Out of frustration I only waved my hand faster and more aggressively, making it even worse. Thanks!
One more question though,
When the car's electronics are on, I hear a constant beeping sound coming from the PCM, as if someone is speaking through Morse code. Is this normal?

Oh also, is there a way to keep the radio off, and not turn back on when you start the car?

Morse code? Beats me. You can't turn off only the radio just the entire PCM. Seems to me that this is my only complaint with this wonderful car
