Thumbs up GP Automotive Renewal Service/Nano/Clear Film Install - Greenpdk's 991 Carrera S

This will be the first time we've done a real-time thread of our service. We usually have a nice writeup that takes hours to prep and post. So, we're excited to change things up a bit and take you on a pretty cool journey of how we like to prepare a brand new vehicle.

March 4th - Arrival at Newport Auto Center, Newport Beach, CA

We have a great relationship with Newport Porsche. Client's sales rep, Matt, has been great to work with. He snapped the photos as soon as 991 arrived. Dan Comouche, Sales Manager, is involved in each of our New Vehicle Preps assuring that none of our cars are ever washed or detailed. This dealership understands how important the client's expectations are and they truly respect the work we do. Because of this relationship, we are one of few vendors allowed on premises to perform this detail, or the client can opt to bring it to our studio a short drive away.

This 991 was due to be delivered last week, along with 3 others we're working on. An upgrade in Porsche's software system, delayed many many cars. But, most were patient and this week is the big week.

She's finally here. This is how we like to take delivery of a new vehicle.

Notice how paint surface is free of any scratches and swirls. That's usually how it leaves the factory

Don't let the light dirt on the paint bother you. It means it hasn't been touched since vehicle left Germany

Beginning the first wash in this 991's life. Pretty special event. In this process, we will be cleaning everything and decontaminating the paint and glass. All this to prep for polishing, which will follow in a few hours.

Once an area is washed, the mitt is then rinsed prior to soaking back into clean soap bucket. Then the area washed is rinsed as well.

It's a little OCD, but we use brand new towels on every new vehicle service. This assures us we don't damage the pristine finish inside and out.

For the most part, the paint was near flawless

Slight imperfections in the paint. This is why it's crucial to have a professional service performed in order for a safe and effective solution. It take many years of experience on specific manufacturers to know what steps to take and produce the most optimal results.

If you notice, there are faint ghost lines. This is a result of polishing improperly. This was done at the factory level

Prep work for clear film install. We want the surface to be the best even though it will never be seen. Sometimes it's what you don't see that makes the difference. Somewhere down the line, the film will be removed, and we want to make sure the next install will be perfect as well.

Plastic areas taped up to avoid cross-polishing

Paint surface polished - During

Paint surface polished - Complete

Wow! You do brilliant work; the paint looks utterly fantastic! I really wish we had someone like you on the East Coast who does work at the dealership. The place in Jersey where I'd purchased my car has a horrible cleaning crew on premise; my car looks as if it were polished with a chocolate bar. I really have my work cut out for me once the weather warms up.

Clear film being installed. This is where skilled hands and a detailed eye separate an average installation and an installation that could only be described as an art form.

It's the safest way to remove adhesive left from edges of protective wrap and any contaminants that cannot be washed off. If you look closely, we used a fine grade clay. There are several grades of clay, and a professional knows exactly what to use for the specific application. Hope that clarifies.

Interior work begins. For this level of service, client opted to simply have the interior cleaned at this time, and in three months, we'd do a more complete interior service that would deep clean and condition various surfaces.

An All-Natural Leather Cleaner is used. This product cleans effectively without leaving any smell. So the interior retains the new car scent and feel.

Correcting major areas first. This process is extremely delicate and years of expertise come into play. You want to achieve a perfect finish, but remove as little valuable clear coat as possible. At GP we have a system, Automotive Renewal System (ARS), and it's taken years to perfect and it continues to evolve. ARS assures each vehicle achieves maximum potential without compromising clearcoat and safety is #1. To date, not a single vehicle has been damaged directly when ARS has been executed.

Nano being applied to clear film and rest of paint surface

Spectacular. Hope you have some "in the sun" shots of the finished work.
