Thank you for all the support and as I indicated I did hire a lawyer. While I'm sure the end result will be positive, it pisses me off everytime I drive by the "scene" cause I know I did nothing wrong and no way he saw me due to distance and angle. I'm sure I will have to pay a fine, plus lawyer, but things like this happen and I am grateful I can afford the car and to defend myself.

Bottom line is I believe the PSE contributed to the ticket and quite frankly, I am not going to turn it off. I am a safe driver and have no points on my license......EVER.

Leaving for work soon and can't wait to fire it up! I will provide updates.

On I-95 if they catch you doing over 85, CT considers it reckless. I was not changing lanes, and not weaving in and out of traffic, just straight line driving - it did not matter - over 85 and they tow the car and put you in jail. Don't know what the law is in other states.

Back to the OP, I agree it was a BS ticket and you should fight it. Equating loudness with high speed just doesn't make sense. If you have no priors and a clean record, I suspect they will either throw it out or you pay fine with no points. Still don't know what careless driving means - you did not hit anyone or cause an accident so how were you careless?

Let your lawyer earn his money. He will talk to the prosecutor, who will not want to waste time with a trial and you will plead down to something with no points. You will pay the ticket as, after all, the traffic system is not a means to protect drivers, to keep things moving, or anything other than providing a revenue stream. And you will take pleasure in the fact that you are driving home in a dream and he is not!

Stay cool on the Palisades and we will all hope that this is a one time event!
Hope to see you again soon and best of luck.
Michael

Dear OP,

I think you more than likely look like the guy that is banging this cop's wife. That's why you got bent over on this ticket. I got a speeding ticket here in CA and a local atty I found on Yelp took care of it all for $100. Totally stocked about it too.
