Sport Design Mirrors

I am fancying the Sport Design Mirrors that you see on the new TT and GT3. Will those be available as an upgrade for the Carrera? If so any knowledge as to cost?

We are all hoping so. Suncoast knows of our wishes and will notify us if anything pops up

They are a $600 option on the 991 Turbo (Std equip on the Turbo S).

Who knows what they cost to purchase outright, but probably twice that amount?

I'll pay it, even though I like cool folding mirrors. They suck at speed.

My drivers side mirror seems to make a "chirping" sort of noise at about 70 mph.

Is that the issue that people have with the mirrors?

If you have drivers window down and passenger window up you'll get buffeting from air passing between regular mirror design and driver window on the 991. It's an aggravating design flaw. Solution is cup your hand over mirror to change its aerodynamic shape (not ideal as you need that hand to drive), or raise driver window a few inches until buffeting stops, or lower passenger window until buffeting stops.. Ugh. At least it's only with the top up on Cabrio. Top down is glorious.

would love to see these available as well. however on the other hand, i believe porsche should replace the mirrors as part of a recall. clearly a design flaw. why should we have to pay up for their mistake. we did shell out a pretty penny for the 991's.

Do you think the SD Mirrors would solve the buffeting issue?

Exactly Porsche knows. Update the design and call them 'sport' is their solution..
