2015 Mercedes SLC To Target 911
...Mercedes will try to target the Porsche 911 and lower-end supercars.

Mercedes will offer a base version delivering about 485 horsepower and priced at about €109,000 (about $140k at the current exchange rates). Next there will be a S version delivering about 550 horsepower and priced at €145,000 ($186,000 at the current exchange rates). The most powerful version will be the Black Series which will deliver a total of 585 horsepower.
That price : power seems quite similar.
(I corrected the 485 to 585, because that is what was reported earlier, and appears to be a typo)
My $.02 - Mercedes has AWD, right? Why not put that in there? Then I'd say they've got one hell of a car.
My experience with a high HP Mercedes in the past was riddled with the smell of burnt rubber. I had a hard time extracting some decent power from the thing before the tires just gave it all up. I mean, it was fine for someone accelerating on the highway - if already doing 80MPH. But for someone attempting to get there as quickly as possible - it was exciting, for sure. Not sure if I want that kind of excitement on my daily commute.

Sounds like somebody doesn't like front-engined cars.
When I'd finally decided to trade in my black 2013 991S2, I took another hard look at the GTR and the ZR1 (including test drives). I ended up going with a white 911S2 and I couldn't be happier.
I'm not knocking the other cars, but there's just something about this new 911 that really gets my blood going. Just make sure you select the right color the first time around!

100% agree
