I'm in California and received a 10% off msrp for my 2013 C2. Car was 97k and I got it for around 88k.
24 months 7500 miles pe yrr 79% residual. .00200 money factor
$9200 total down. $615 per month w tax

$23345 total = $972 per month

genpop3 07-28-2013 01:24 AM

Guys can you kindly check my math:

Assuming no Maximum Residual MSRP ("MRM") or that the MRM is not exceeded.
$116,000 MSRP for a C2S
10% off from negotiation makes it $104,400, the net cap cost
78% residual of MSRP is $90,480, the residual value

I would be paying $13,920 in depreciation. | (net cap cost – residual value)

Over 24 month term, that makes it a $580 a month base payment | (depreciation / 24)

With money factor of 0.002 = $389.76 financing fee per month | (net cap + residual) * money factor.

Monthly before sales tax would be = $969.76 | financing fee + base monthly

Sales tax if 9% in CA is $87.28 | (depreciation + finance fee) * tax rate

Total Monthly is $1057.04 | sales tax + monthly

If my math is correct in the above post, I made a simple excel Lease Calculator, hope this helps:

Change the numbers in the shaded cells accordingly and it will calculate on the cells below.

i'm new to leasing, but doesn't MRM have to be considered because porsche will not offer generous residuals above a certain price point?

otherwise, i'm going back to get a c2s with more options :)

Hey op487062 thanks for your feedback

Definitely MRM needs to be considered but I didn't include it because I wasn't sure the MRM for a C2S.

I've read its 104k or 106k for a C2.

Would you mind letting me know how much your paying right now / the details of your lease?

I just saw the residual for a C2S 73% for 12k miles. That changes my monthly by $250!

Base rate MF is .002 or 4.8%. Accept no markup. Residual is dependent on which model (c2, c2s, c4, c4s, cab) and miles per year.

For C2 base:

10k/year = 78%
12k/year = 77%
15k/year = 75%

MRM on base is around 106k (maximum msrp that can be residualized)

C2S

10k/year = 74%
12k/year = 73%
15k/year = 71%

1% deduction in residual for pdk
Additional miles can be bought for 25 cents per mile at inception.
Conquest has been extended which provides you with 3x your current lease payment, without requiring that you turn the vehicle in.
Unsure of MRM on c2s.

Never shop just the payment, insist on 0 cap reduction and all fees rolled into the price. Use a lease calculator to get the payment down to the dollar.

Happy Hunting

Anyone know what the 3 year residual is for the C2 and C2S like above?

Hey guys,

I went to two dealerships today.

Dealership 1 - C2S Agate Grey MSRP $119,000.00
45 minutes spent. Online listing showed 2013 model; in the end, it was 2014, so negotiations stopped. He was willing to make a deal on the remaining black and white C2S but I wasn't interested since I wanted Agate Grey.

Dealership 2 - C2S Agate Grey MSRP $121,000.00
3 hours spent. Test drove both 991 and 991s. Rep scoffed when I asked for 10% off a C2S. Said I could get it elsewhere. He said there was always a catch since 10% is their entire margin. When we sat down to make a deal, I wrote down: 10% off MSRP, 0.002 MF, 72% residual, 24 months, 12k miles a year. Sales manager countered with 4% and 0.0024 MF. I told the rep we were too far off and thanked him for his time. Sales Manager 1 intervened and told me this long story about how 10% was not possible etc etc. I still wanted to leave and thanked Sales Manager 1 for his time. In the parking lot, I was chased by a my rep and said he could do 9% if I would do the deal now. Sales Manager 2 greeted me and said he could do 9%. I was tired at this point, and especially tired of all the attempted manipulation, so I just asked about the MF knowing they wouldn't give me 0.002. Sales Manager 2 said he could do 0.0022 but I just said no thanks and walked away.

Just deal with the Internet manager, save yourself time. You can get it all done over the phone.

Click rebates, then lease incentives.

I think 9% off is pretty good. You walked because of the 1%?

9% is good, but I get walking away if it's not the deal he wanted. I get more worked up over the bump in interest rate- just a pet peeve.

op487062 07-28-2013 09:48 PM

i wouldn't go to a dealership without having some parameters of a deal in place. the back and forth tactic is too exhausting and puts me in a foul mood.

Thanks, Lllwlf. I think residuals tell a lot.

9% is possible but pushing it especially with a .002 MF. I signed a lease at end of June here are the details: 7.5% off MSRP, .002 MF, 7500 miles/year, 72% residual on a '13 C4S w/ MT. I pushed pretty hard to get these numbers and while 8% may have been possible, it wasn't worth the additional time it would have taken. Dealership was willing to give 8.25% discount but wanted to charge a .0022 MF. Two dealers confirmed the following residuals:

24 @ 7.5 (72% MT, 73 PDK)
24 @ 10 (71, 72)
27 @ 7.5 (70, 71)
27 @ 10 (69, 70)

According to these dealers the PDK actually 1% higher than MT. If anyone knows differently, please share your information.

PDK is a 1% deduct not add to the residual.
