Bluetooth Audio only works when it feels like it
On my android phone, under Bluetooth settings there are two check boxes to enable audio, one for phone and one for media streaming. For whatever reason sometimes the media one is not checked. This may help some of you who are having trouble.
Interesting. I've never noticed either one unchecked. I'll check this out next time Bluetooth Audio doesn't work.
I used to experience this a lot, but not very often anymore. It might be all in my head, but I find that if I start the car and leave the phone in my pocket, it connects fine. If I'm dicking around with the phone, either connecting it to power or just checking email, it often fails to connect audio. This is on a Nexus 5.
From what i have found, if you have the newer radio with "Jukebox" function (~Nov. '12 production and later), you cannot have BT Aux connected at the same time as having a USB device (like an iPod) plugged in in the glove box. BT Aux simply will not appear in your source list. I'm an android user, but my dealer and I experimented with it quite a bit and this held true for iOS devices as well. Try this: 1) Disconnect anything attached to USB 2) Shut the car down completely... open a door to fully kill the power to the PCM 3) Re-start car 4) Follow the procedure in the manual to enable BT Aux and add an MP3 player That SHOULD do it. It still won't connect to BT Aux 100% of the time. I never have a problem with the phone function, however. That is very solid and never drops once connected.
So, I won't be able to use the phone if I have iPod connected?
The only reason I got Bt is for telephone calls, not music.
