Has anyone else done this tune yet? Looking forward to hearing some more feedback.

I may be kind of biased...but we've done quite a few cars and customers have all been really happy. Having driven a few personally, I can say it is a nice improvement!

A dealer that offers third party mods will unofficially "ignore" that these mods are in violation of the warranty when servicing these cars, but you should realize that if you try to take this vehicle to another dealer, your results could vary considerably.

I was looking at a CPO car with several third party mods that the dealer had installed for the original owner. When I asked whether the the mods violated the CPO, the answer was "no" but when I asked for a copy of the CPO paperwork, the mods were not listed and there was a CPO checklist question that asked "are there any third party modifications to the vehicle?" With an asterisk saying such cars were not CPOable.

No doubt dealers will bend the rules for mods they install, and PCNA will never find out about it, but don't expect it for mods they didn't. It will drastically limit the value of your warranty, to the dealer that installed it.

It will vary from place to place, and it depends on the situation. Like you said, some dealers will close their eyes and pretend that some modifications simply aren't there.

Just to clear something up for potential customers and other readers, though: I think the term "voiding your warranty" is being loosely thrown around and somewhat misunderstood. Most dealerships will not outright "void" your entire warranty when they see a modification on your Porsche. What often happens is that Porsche may *link* a problem on your car to the modification and deny any warranty coverage. For example, they may deny coverage on an engine failure if their computers show that you have a tune installed and really, really pushed the engine to its limit. They can't, however, deny you a claim for a faulty rear taillight if you have a GIAC tune installed.

Yes, some dealers may outright try to "void" the entire warranty, but that is illegal under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. Problems arise when a dealership actually puts a foot down and denies a warranty claim for an illegal reason; at that point, you can either sue them under this Act and fight them in court, or give up and pay for it yourself. There are numerous threads regarding this Act if you do a quick search.

The dealer's reaction and their subsequent actions are really crapshoots. I've had nothing but pleasant outcomes in the past with my modded Mustang GT and warranty replacements through Ford (transmission, engine components, etc.).

I've done the mod and love it. The car really came alive in the midrange. The X51 kit makes the powerband wider, but a bit boring around 3-4K RPM. Now it really jumps.
