Your link did not work but if it's the Japanese comparision I saw on youtube then its a great comparison . It's very close matched . Great that both cars are manual gearboxes too !! I'd like to see a Boxster vs 991 Cab matchup too. Sidenote --The lime gold looks real nice on the Cayman !!

looks like the Cayman S has PCCB with yellow calipers, not sure if the Carrera was on standard or PCCB though.....

 

I don't know about the brakes but there is going to be a Boxster/Cayman GTS soon . This ought to narrow the gap futher . The big difference I see is that the 991 makes the most out of the engine placed in the car but there almost seems as though there is a deliberate effort to place the Cayman S just a hair beneath it in lap time .

I would buy a base 991 before a Cayman S if a coupe was a must. This is especially the case if the car was a first Porsche . A 911 coupe is the must have first Porsche ( in my opinion) . I must say that the new Cayman s in lime gold is amazing looking though !!

I do not feel that way about a Boxster S vs a 991 base cab . It would not be a second thought .. I'd take the Boxster !!

watched it again closely .. brakes do look like ceramics on the Cayman S and at 23:39 the seats also look like sport bucket .991 seats look standard .
