Sad day... Good bye guys

Hi Guys

It was a sad day yesterday. I could not sleep at all last night.
The P-car was gone much faster than I thought. After a dealer appraised it for a pretty good price, I decided to take advantage of the tax credit (an Illinois thing) and just trade it in. I will be getting a 2014 MB E350. I actually got a really good price on it as well. I know it is a down grade, but it is not a bad car either. I will have more room, more comfort, no car payment, and possibly a new house.

I was pretty sad when dealer lady drove it out of my garage and off. I thought I would at least drive the car for another spring/summer. Or at the very least, a couple more times before I trade it in. NOPE, I did not get to do that. Dealer picked it up last night and I will be driving my JEEP in to complete the deal.

It has been great owning my dream car for the past 9 months. It has been great being on the forum and exchange helpful tips and interesting stories with you guys. Forgive me for not wanting to get back on this forum for awhile, because it will only make me sad. Unless I win the Mega Lotto tonight and I will be back first thing tomorrow to tell you guys I am getting a Turbo S! We all wish, right?

Ok. Thank you all. Enjoy your cars. Happy Holidays.

YXC145.

Y, it's all for a good cause and your reasons and explanations are appreciated.
Good luck with the new house and various changes. The universe willing, you'll be in another P car in the near future.
Have a terrific Holiday Season.

Hey not too bad getting a brand new Mercedes and a house instead of a 991. Don't feel to badly for yourself!

I only had my first Porsche for 9 months too. I bought it and 9 months later I was out of work and had to sell it. At the time I though that was it for my P-Car driving experience. I bought a VW a few months later and resigned myself to my boring vehicle. 12 months later though fortunes changed and I was able to buy another P-car which I've now owned for 7 years.

We never know what the future holds!

All the best.

Thank you very much!! I have good feelings about this, too. Maybe in a few years, a used Cayman S.

You will have another P car in your future... I would have liked to traded my cars in a lot earlier to buy the newer model, but we bought a new house 4 years ago and the cars went on the back burner. Now I hope to be in the car market in the next 12 months.

Best of luck with your new MB / home...

Cheers,

@yxc145 : Don't worry, focus on the house. Plenty of time to get back in a Porsche afterwards ! You'll be back !

It has gone for a very good cause AND you achieved your goal.
Had it met your current needs, you'd still have it - but you made the right choice.

A Mercedes is not a brand downgrade. A lot of people aspire to own a MB in their lifetime.

You have your health, a home and a good car.
Life is good.

As akbjr said, it's just a car. And on the bright side, I wish I could trade a P-car for a house here in the Bay Area!

Good luck and see you when you are back with your Turbo S

Life is not short. It's pretty long. You'll have plenty of time to get back into one

New house and car vs. 991. I think you made a wise choice and all the best.

Thank you guys for all the cheerful messages. It really helps. Just picked up the E Class. Already missed the Torque.

Chancludo: Wish I could get a house here in Chicago for the price of a 911. It definitely isn't as high as the Bay area market. Selling the P-Car is just to get rid of the car payment, so I can qualify for a good loan.
