Corvette - "I have fallen and I can't get up"
This from Google News "National Corvette Museum director describes sinkhole that swallowed 8 cars" - Add that to the impressive numbers - the Corvette can go from 0 to -30 feet in 182 ft/s/s! LOL! Sorry, I could not resist. Glad no one was hurt!

Well... Even if I'm not a fan of the Corvette in general (although I like C1 and C2), the car remains an automotive icon and seeing this and being a petrolhead, it does hurt. Simple as that.

I understand. But, as a Mustang fan from age 4 and a hater of the "bowtie" ever since the bad experience I had with my first new car - an '84 Cavalier, I could not resist - don't let it get around that I lust after the new Caddy CTS-V coupe!

wow that really hurts to watch - what a shame.

They didn't build that.

Over at the other 991 forum - which I will never return to - all they did was make light of this and laugh and gloat. I expected a lot more form that group but was sorely disappointed to find out my expectations were set way too high.

Chill out guys. Nobody got hurt. No car is sacred, not even the 911 (but close to...).

Serge - you guys ok? We are all buttoned up for another foot on top of the foot of snow and ice already on the ground - and freezing rain tomorrow.
Here's what I saw through my window this morning... nothing in fact since it was covered with ice :o https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1392255017 Nothing too bad happened so far, we just need to wait for the temperature to increase (tomorrow PM) as we're simply not equipped to deal with this. Needless to say that the 991 is in the garage and is not going to move before the week end. Good luck up North! |
Agree with some others, it's truly a shame to hear about this. Some fantastic cars ruined. I really like the early ZR1s. Not that the newest models aren't solid as well but I have great memories of the 90's versions and the performance they put out. They really stood out to me at that time...the wide hips, huge rear tires, very few produced, etc.

Hate to see this. Sad story.

Will I ever be able to get more than 48 miles on my car? hilarious My brother has a ZO6. It's pretty intense; he's gone 10.8 at Atco with drag radials. That being said, I still can't get used to the new look of the C7: especially from the rear. |
