991 GT3 or 458?
I have delayed my allocation several times now because I want paint to sample. I was planning on doing the ultimate Mexico Blue build. I love Porsche. Always have.
However, now I am thinking..... my GT3 build will be $160k or so... i've had more expensive cars.... but do I want to buy a new GT3 or do I want a used 458?
What would you do? 458 prices are sub $250k so I wouldnt have a problem with that. Got rid of my Scuderia a few months ago and am on the fence... P or F?

Depends on the purpose of the vehicle. For the road without a doubt the 458 because it's simply a better car in every aspect. For the track... Probably the GT3.
In the end, you can't go wrong with either one

I know someone who uses his 458 as a daily driver and business car, putting 35,000-40,000km a year on the odo, without any problems. It wouldn't be my choice for a DD (I think that an FF would be a better DD Ferrari), but I don't see why a Porsche should cope with that task easier than a Ferrari.
The times that Ferraris needed service every 5000 miles and inbetween 5 visits to the dealership for parts falling off, are long gone. They are as reliable and well built as a German car these days.

Go drive one.
IMO, its on a different level. I have not driven a 991 GT3, but I have seat time in a 997 GT3.

I look at this way. Both cars are awesome so which ever you chosse you are going to have a great car. However, a lot really depends what kid of person you are. These two cars although both great are very different in every way. How you use it, what impressions you want to make, cost of ownership, and the list goes on. I personally having owned both a Ferrari and a number of Porsches feel a Porsche is the kind of car I would feel comfortable with.
Over the years i have been fortunate not to have maney be an issue when buying cars. However, with that said I would personally go for the Porsche. At the end of the day only you can make that call. Lucky you because whatever decision you make it will be an great choice.
