Imminent farewell 991S.... :-(
Alas, it'll soon be time to wave farewell to my beloved '13 Platinum 991S
It's been by far the best 911 I've owned and I know it's going to be missed.
I've had a magical and trouble free 2 years with it but the time has now come to pass it on to my dealer and then to others who will hopefully enjoy it as much as I have.
To help me cope with the sadness of the S loss, my '15 991 GT3 order was confirmed and goes into production in September for Oct/Nov delivery! Hooray!

It's safe to say that I have a long relationship with my dealer and I never have to ask for a discount or bargain. They always quote me a price that is fair to all. That has applied to every car I've bought from them.
Chuck, will do. For now I think folks here will have to put up with me experiencing every phase of Porsche Order Anxiety Syndrome:
1- Configure & Spec
2- Place order
3- Dealer confirms order and build date
4- Change Spec!!!
5- Dealer goes

6- Goto 3!
7- Goto 4!
8- Dealer Pulls hair out and tells you of delay and spanking likely if more changes made!
9- You promise to be a good boy!
10- Order hits Cut-Off date and no further changes can be made. Dealer and you are relieved.
11- Order hits build date....you start calling dealer every other day!
12- Dealer starts taking Prozac!
13- You want daily updates about status.
14- Dealer gradually increases dosage!
15- Build is completed and car awaits transport to Emden.
16- Goto 13
17- Goto 14
18- Car gets to Emden and ship is assigned.
19- You want to know whether car is on the ship. Call dealer every 6 hours!
20- YOU start taking Prozac!
21- Car is on the water and a whole new phase starts!
22- You start tracking the ship...great progress is being made...
23- All is going well, until 2 days out in the Atlantic the ship tracking stops!
24- Dealer and you increase dosage!
25- You keep checking the tracker... Silence....frustration...
26- The jokes about the ship having sunk start up on the forum!

27- After a week the ship is back! You're relieved that the darned thing really hadn't sunk.
28- The boat arrives in port. You want it unloaded immediately.
29- Start pestering the dealer every hour!
30- Dealer is at breaking point and about to commit harakiri when they get the delivery schedule.
31- They tell of the date...
32- You camp out at the dealership and want to see the car being unloaded off the trailer.
33- Trailer is late....you start pacing.... dealer calls for men in white suits....just when they start looking for the straight jackets the trailer pulls up! Your thing of beauty is right there and all wrapped up. It is finally here!
34- Dealer and you are happy campers again and can start weaning of the meds!
All this time your family think you've gone gaga! Your wife has had to buy discreet earplugs and has mastered the art of pretending to hear everything you've talked about the car incessantly for the past few months!
So my friends....it begins!
First things first....tomorrow I go for an outpatient lithotripsy to deal with a kidney stone!

Here's to good health for all!
Thanks to all for the kind words and wishes.
Procedure done, pain pain pain! Got home and bed! Just woke up feeling a tad bit better...wife and family are angels. I was told no lifting, no chores, plenty of rest!
My requests have started...."O dearest.... toast and soup for now please!.... By the way can you look at this GT3 configurator.....!"
So before I get clonked, I got the ok for the front axle lift! I've also decided to drop the black wheels and go for the standard platinum ones. I agree with others comments that the black looses the detail of the wheels.
Ok, time for my meds.....

Haku,
Don't you think that an outpatient lithotripsy was a rather extreme measure to justify a GT3 to the wife?
I merely drove a Philips screwdriver through my hand while performing a list of her DIY tasks. Shortly after the ER room staff extracted the said screwdriver, there was a 991S in my driveway.
Some might see our tactics as draconian, but the end justified the means.
I wish you a speedy recovery..

To think that I may have gotten away with a screwdriver hand stab?!!

I'll consult you next time I scheme!
Draconian?....yup, no pain...no gain!
Thanks for the kind wishes D.
