Update - dealer quoted $450

I have resistall coverage (purchased with the car) and they said "no thank you" and they will be sending over a mobile leather repair guy to take care of this - although I am not very thrilled about it ....I will be there monitoring his repair process )

Any insights or advice that you may have on how they fixed it? Things to look out for etc.?

I have a very similar problem that needs fixing as well. Almost the exact same spot too.

Hint: Pick #4 and save yourself the headaches.
#4 is so true, after a while you just forget about it...I know the pain tho!

I think the most important / difficult thing was to match the color but the guys who came to fix it had more than 25 years of experience in matching similar difficult colors etc

Other than that if you have time keep a tab on what they are doing and monitor it through out the process - will take about 1.5 hours or so if the damage is minor
