Compukidd is infamous around these parts
For units that need access to the sky (GPS reasons) I am guessing they are suction cup mounted to the windshield? Do you run a wire around the headliner /door pillar to the aux in the foot well? I hate wires and just want to hide them all!

Exactly, get a mirror mount and run the wire down the headliner and down the A pillar, then you can connect to aux in the footwell or hard wire to the fuse box. An easy way to to this is with a fuse tap. You can also get power by tapping into your mirror, using invisicord, that way you do not have to run a wire down the pillar or headlliner. Here is a DIY link for Invisicord>

I have my Escort 9500 clipped to my passenger side sunvisor. I have a line that is hardwired to the passenger side fuse box, runs up inside the A pillar and the headline and comes out at the pivot for the sunvisor closer to the driver's side. Had the hardwire done by an impeccable shop in Brooklyn (they did my 991 C2S a few years ago and just did my TT last week). It has no problem picking up a GPS signal.
