Where do you put the kid's booster seat?

I just bought the kids Porsche booster seat. Am I supposed to put the booster in the more dangerous front seat? Or am I supposed to put it in the back, which the booster seems far too tall to go in the back.

Right now I have the booster in the front, I'm going low speeds anyway but it may not be the safest. What do you parents do in your 911?

Have you read your owners manual? I think you should. All car seats and children have to be in the back seat. The front air bag can kill them. The fact that you are diving slow doesn't matter. If the bag deploys in a 20 mph accident, the results could be tragic.

All kids seats should go in the back. I"m sure your local dealer could assist with installation, or even your local fire department (seriously - they will check your child seats for you).

I have the Porsche brand booster. While the booster technically fits, I think it is ill fit for his height.
The point of the booster is to bring the child up to the height of the shoulder belt. When I adjust the booster back to his height, the shoulder on the kid is now at least 6" higher than the belt. The booster seat head guard placement is higher than the car.

The booster with a back will provide height adjustment for the shoulder belt to ensure it doesn't cut across the neck. An additional benefit of this type of seat is that it provides head and neck support in the event of an accident.

If you search the forum (and Rennlist) you will find several threads on car seats and this which have proven to be a good fit for the back of a 991. You won't find any that find a good fit for the front seat because they aren't recommneded.

Directions on the back of the booster say the car disables the airbag if under a certain weight is determined.

When placed in the back seat his head would be very high.

Booster seats are intended to bring the kid up to the appropriate shoulder belt, not 6" above he shoulder. The in-booster belt guide places it in the proper place, which is very tall compared to the actual placement in the car.

My next choice may to try the Cosco ones sold at target, they seem to be a lower profile.
This morning I drove my kid to school in the back seat without the booster.
I think my kid need a booster in the back with a very low rise; the Porsche one is raised too high for the back seat, it fits perfect up front though.

My son is almost sized out of booster seats anyway on height.
He's about 60 lbs which according to the label is the threshold for airbag deactivation.

I've been through the 2017 owners manual and it says the airbag doesn't deactivate on that model. I'd check with your dealer

I drive my 7 & 4 yr old kids around in the back of my '15 GTS coupe. I would never put them in the front without the airbags disabled. I've had mine go off: they are triggered easily in a front end collision and are very violent.

I use the Cosco high back seat with the 4 yr old and Cosco booster with the 7yr old. Both seats fit perfectly in the back and are very comfy and safe!
