Tire ramp suggestions for 991.1 Cabriolet S
Unfortunately I'm going to need to store my 991.1 Cabriolet S for much of the next few months. I'm considering four of the little floor ramps to park it on so the tires don't get flat spots. Reviews seem very mixed for most of these I've found--common issue seems to be that they don't stay in place when you try to drive onto them or fly out when you drive off. Does anyone have any recommendations from personal experience with these?
Thx in advance, Brad |
I hibernate my car in the winter for 3-4 months. I followed the Porsche manual and inflate all my tires to 50 psi. Have had no issues with flat spots.

Thanks--I hadn't realized that was an option.

Inflate tires to 50 psi. Park car on carpet squares. Been doing this for over 20 years on multiple cars and never experienced a flat spot. Some of my cars sit for 6+ months |
Why not just drive it in the winter? |
How would putting the car on ramps be any different than leaving the car on the garage floor? |
I saw a pic recently of drive on ramps, that appears to be black foam of some sort; however, I have no clue how they are. Otherwise, I have parked cars on carpet pads for years and never got flat spots, and increasing the pressures will help as well.

They are called Flat Spot Stoppers or Tire Cradles, and they are supposed to distribute the weight more evenly across the entire width of the tire. Whether they actually do anything is another story. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...f447ebea36.jpg |
