I am new to the forum but have looked at it over the last couple of years. I was recently looking for a Targa 4 GTS. I contacted several dealers and had one tell me they were getting ready to use their last allotted order a couple of weeks ago due to the time running out. I searched the country and found there were not many available that had the configuration I wanted. But I ended up getting one that I am very happy with.
Any dealer can tell you how many allocations are left around the country and if they cannot get one of their own they can trade for one, if the dealer that has one is willing to trade. At this time though it may very hard to get, if not impossible, but check with your local dealer and if they will not tell you try another dealer. I got mine last July and took delivery in late November and I love it more each time I drive it, and find something else to customize.
