992 Turbo S Metallic Clicking Noise (Left Side Front & Rear) – Multiple Repairs, Stil

Hi everyone,

I’m writing here because we are honestly running out of ideas with our Porsche 911 Turbo S and I’m trying to understand if anyone else has experienced something similar.

The car is a 2020 992 Turbo S with approximately 48.000 km.

The car is currently back at Centro Porsche Modena after multiple inspections and repairs, but the issue is still unresolved.

The problem is a metallic clicking / ticking noise coming ONLY from the LEFT side of the car:
  • front left
  • and rear left as well
The sound is:
  • metallic
  • intermittent
  • more noticeable at low speed
  • noticeable during steering input
  • noticeable over small road imperfections
  • sometimes present even while driving straight
  • seems to get worse once the brakes/components are warm
Important detail:
the issue changed after Porsche installed 2 mm front spacers.
It did NOT solve the problem, but it altered the behavior of the noise.

Work already performed by Porsche:
  • front left driveshaft replaced
  • front left wheel bearing replaced
  • multiple inspections and road tests
  • further checks still ongoing
The strange thing is:
  • the issue is still ONLY on the left side
  • both front and rear
  • despite the replaced components
At this point I am starting to suspect:
  • center lock / hub assembly
  • wheel-to-hub mating surface
  • floating brake hardware/PCCB components
  • or some kind of micro movement/tolerance issue under load
I am also attaching a private YouTube link showing the exact issue on our car, in case it may help identify the source of the problem.

Has anyone experienced:
  • a similar clicking/ticking noise on a 992 Turbo S?
  • center lock related noises?
  • PCCB floating rotor noises that sounded like this?
  • noises affecting both front and rear on the same side?
Any insight would honestly be appreciated, because the car has already spent a very long time in the workshop and we still do not have a definitive solution.

Thank you everyone.
