Red light on Key itself won't turn off...
 

I have an 01' 911TT and the key has a red light that is constantly on. Now I'm not sure what that means, but I also noticed that my alarm won't turn on by pressing the buttons on the key itself. It won't even pop the hood. Is my battery on the key out, or is my main alarm system fried? I read something on rennlist saying that my alarm may be fried? Any advice? Oh.., and when I turn to lock the key in the door, the alarm audibly sounds. I'm confused...

i had this problem on my 996 non-turbo.....

i took it to the dealer and they informed me the key was dead.
