Aftermarket Warranty advice requested

I recently bought an 01 turbo that unfortunately has the dreaded 2nd gear pop out issue.

Should I bring it to a porsche dealer or can I bring it to a place like powertech, a porsche servicer?

Since they'll be removing the trans I'd like to have a stronger clutch and a lightweight flywheel installed in the process for when I mod it down the road and I'm not sure if the dealer would be into that.

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Tommy.

p.s. I'm in NJ so if anyone has any particular places to recommend I'm all ears.

They sure do... They create every hoop imaginable to deny your claim if it's above $1000. Don't go with Fidelity, that's all I can say!

Shoulda just spent that money at a strip club... I'd have atleast had a "good" time.

It may still be worthless if they don't honor it. Check out the thread on the 996TT forum on Rennlist about this issue.

let me tell u about my current experience with this aftermarket warranty company , when i purchased my car , i got the aftermarket warranty ,i told the guy the i wanted the best coverage ,the one that coveres everything, it was 2500 , 4 yrs or 100k , witha 100 deductable .

so i get an oil leak some where deep ,and ending up to have to drop the motor to take alook at the oil distribution plate and take the intake mani off.. well its seal or gasket related ,sooo ,, on my warrant paper on the right hand corner there was alittle box wich said gaskets and seals, which was never offered to me as an option . iwasnt even told about it .. so yes nothing is covred the lady sais cuase even though i did get the premium , ustill needed to getthe gasket and seal option. so basicly ....since evyrthing has a seal and gasket ur paying for nothing. ****ing scam ...
