Michelin PS2 vs Toyo T1R's
 

Hey guys, I just picked up a set of 19" techarts and I'm debating on which tires to go with. I know the PS2's are well thought of but I plan to do some distance driving and I know most go thru them fairly quickly. The Toyo's I can pick up locally and run a little more than half the price of the PS2's which are $500 ea.roughly for the rears and $315 for the front ea...the Toyos at $281 ea rears and $184 ea front is such a good deal plus they have a higher wear rating. Looking for opinions especially from those who run the toyo's. I may do an occational track day but may just run stock wheels w/the Pirelli's although maybe I would run the techarts, not sure. Thanks for the input.

You should do a search, I posted similar questions a few weeks back. But, I needed 18's and they were not available in the stock sizes (Toyo) . Very well received though, by a lot of board members.

I did do a search but there were lots of opinions (which are fine but...) but only like two people who had actually used the tires on their 996TT. I was looking for additonal feedback from those who own them. What did you end up going with? BTW, I am looking at 19" 235/35/19 and 315/25/19 so I was also wondering if there are any fitment/rubbing issues w/the Toyos. Thanks for your response though....

I personally love the PS2 tire.

I've had them both and you get what you pay for. It's Michelin's for me.

RSS, what was the most noticable differences? Dry, wet? How about wear? What have you noticed? Any insight would be very helpful. Thanks

I like the PS2s because wet traction was good, but also the tires are very quiet even at higher speeds 100+. I can't say I ever heard noise from them.
They wear out quicker than most tires, but they are worth it.

I worked for toyo for a little while, and I'd agree w/ this statement dead on. If money wasn't an issue and I was buying the tires...i'd go PS2. If I was looking for an R-compound tire it'd be different though.

I wound up going with the Pirelli PZero and I like them so far. Very good grip. And, I actually got caight in the rain with them yesterday and they were worlds better than the conti's.

It seems that the Michelins have it. How about wear? Those w/the pS2's what can I expect to get out of a set of rears? At $500 each this matters to me. Thanks
