Rear Windshield Wiper Delete?

Anyone removed the rear windshield wiper? To me it seems like the biggest waste. Please offer suggestions and guidance on removal.

Try a drive-through car wash at your favorite gas station. It will be deleted quickly!

Hi there, it's really easy and about 12 pounds or so with the motor and wiper... Just pull the tab off of the wiper and there's a bolt. Get inside the car and remove the back panel (it pops out) and that reveals the motor. I think there are 3 bolt maybe four and then the rest just pulls out. Get the plug from Eric and you're set.

Is the plug from Eric just a pop in, or does it require sealant to prevent water from entering?

I was going to ask the exact same question as I'm thinking about doing the same. If it doesn't come with a little rubber grommet or something I think a tiny bit of silicon might be in order?

Eric @ bumperplugs.com says that a tiny bead of silicone seals it up perfectly.

ok, we all know plug is the way to go. however, i checked closely that the piece is the same on out TT & the GT2, so can a GT2 piece fit on a TT without modication?

I don't see why not. I mean it's the same back panel.. the same motor and same wiper so it's the same hole

so it should be better than plug right. at least there is no hole to fill.

Well for one, I believe the panel is welded in.

I assume the silicone is applied on the inside of the panel (from inside the car) once the plug is installed?

I believe that Eric's plug is spring loaded or something. As for the location of the silicone... that's a questions for Eric himself... ERIC!!!
