JASCLASS - why do you have so many 911's??
particularly, why a TT and a GT2?? if i were in that position I just think I would get a GT2 and then have something else nice like an SL500 or some cruiser like that, in place of the TT.

uh, that would be THREE, 996twin
still have the maranello and am very much enjoying it. she lives next to the 355 spider in the garage. click on my home page in my profile to see a few pics on FerrariChat.com.
life is good!!!
i miss the 996TT every once in a while when the weather is iffy. the AWD (as much as i grew to dislike it in general) was killer for the rain and other nasties. what a great car in bad weather - with performance to die for.
the f-cars don't like rain. the 355 i generally only drive with the top down, so that's a non-starter. the maranello i've driven in the rain a few times. the damn wheels want to spin on a normal upshift when the pavement is bone dry. add water. rinse. repeat. unwrap self from telly pole!
i was seriously considering a 996TT cab to replace the 355 spider, (and i haven't ruled it out), but the pricing is a bit wacky imo (cab + x50 + options).
doody.

Doody, Looks like someone needs some help in math 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 not 2. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your Ferraris, they are both great cars, we are thinking of in the future selling a P car and replacing with an F car, most likely a Maranello, any advice?

JASCLASS, how about some driving (and general) impressions/ thoughts comparing the tt to the GT2. If you could only have one, which one and why. Anyone else who has owned or driven 996tt and GT2, impressions would be welcome. Rob

jas - always happy to blather on about f-cars!
the quick and dirty is to remember that it's a GT in the truest sense. its design principles were to get from rome to milan at 150mph. it does that with grace and class. you can toss it around the corners - and you will - but that's not where it shines. it's very heavy.
there's nuthin' like a normally-aspirated 12 going gangbusters for you. definitely get some seat time. the market has beat up the maranellos extensively. i think it's way irrational, but i didn't whine when some guy before me saved me the hassle of taking the six figure depreciation haircut. ouch.
feel free to email or PM me. and ferrarichat.com is a first-class resource for all f-car fans.
