3 in back , 2 in front -very soft, actually too bouncy for me.

fly2low Nov 1, 2007 01:08 PM

I have the mid level springs. For this time of year, 0 and 0.

unvmy996 Nov 1, 2007 01:26 PM

you gusy are turning them all the way to the left then clicking clockwise correct?

air jordan what is too bouncy the JIC's ? or your settings ?

Shark01 Nov 1, 2007 01:41 PM

4 clicks back of soft....still rides hard though....I think its just the nature of the beast.

This time of year I have them all the way to the left for the street (I have the 8/12 set up and GT3 sways). On the track I usually twist 7 F, 8 R to start and tweak from there. If it is a smooth track, I can go a few more clicks to the right. Truth is, pretty tough noticing the difference especially if you are mucking around with other variables like tire pressures and sway settings (mine are in the middle for the sways)

AdrianM5 Nov 1, 2007 04:55 PM

I have mine set in the middle also! I also have Gt3 sways and solid bushings.

unvmy996 Nov 1, 2007 05:29 PM

adrian how does it ride ? i have 4clicks clockwise in the front and 5 in the rear ....

WOODTSTER Nov 1, 2007 05:56 PM

This time of the year (cold), I set the fronts just 3 clicks from the softest.
I leave the rears in the middle all year around.

I'm 1/2 hard on front and 3/4 hard on rears. GT3 bars same idea. Medium springs.

unvmy996 Nov 2, 2007 09:20 AM

Zippy you mean your right in the middle for the fronts? and a bit more in the rears.. ? im some where around there too.... does she ride rough ? seems like u can feel every little thing on the road .. and hell is its a bit bumpy ...lol u can feel ur insides shake .

WOODTSTER Nov 2, 2007 11:54 AM

Do not be afraid to try full soft.

Turn the knobs all the way counterclockwise to get soft.

From that point click about 2 clicks (clockwise) at a time until your first filling rattles
loose, then back it off one click and go chase some Miatas.

This set-up will be pretty rough riding regardless of the dampening position but responsiveness is so sweet...much more noticeable on track but even in many situations on the street.

Marty thanks , im gonna fool around and see ... thanks fellas .

Yes, that's about right. I'm a bit on the soft side of middle on the fronts and 3/4 hard on the rears. Same with the sway bars. My objective was maximum handling and balance in the corners. I did not want any understeed in the corners - if anything, a hint of oversteer. I think I have achieved this. Bear in mind I also have 245/40/18 on the front and monster 335/30/18 on the rears. My car corners in a very balanced manner now when on the edge of traction. If anything, I think I would like to try an even stiffer spring. When driving hard (corners) I think the medium springs are a bit too soft for me. There is definately a balance that needs to be found between ride 'quality' and performance. To me, performance = quality. Everyone is different.

Mike
