Pic Request : TRG Front Endlink and JIC's
The tech just got done re-installing my JIC's but is having some doubts about the alignment / fitment of the TRG links in the front. In the current configuration it looks like there may be some rubbing on the axle and he wants to double check it. Any TT users have a picture that shows their front suspension with this setup so that I can show him to verify or calm his concerns?

Anyone have this setup that could snap a pic? Got the JIC ones in now but would love to swap the TRG units in this weekend while the car is in the air.

Here are the Tarratt's on my car

woodster, how does your turbo handle on the 3rd hole? if I go that tight, mine will push like crazy. I'm at around -2 also.

Correction,
those pics are not my car. They were sent to me to show me the tarrat DL's. I did install them front and rear and my wheel wells are now superclean unlike the pics. I do not have mine on the third hole either, Oak. Mine is in the middle. MK |
http://gallery.rennlist.com/albums/B...inks.sized.jpghere's what the straight trg dl's looks like. I found that the dl's need to be adjusted with the suspension completely unloaded to get max clearence or the dl's will rub against the axle.

Oak, Is that why the new TRG's have a slight dog leg?

I just installed front TRGs about 3 weeks ago. I had no issue with any rub, and the fronts are actually BENT on the main tube so you arc "around" the axle. Didn't have any pics of this, but you should absolutely NOT rub. My car has been on a roadcourse since the isntal (I did the install myself without issues.) without any issues.
Mine are set on the #2 hole, and I'm using PSS9s, and using the TARRET rear endlinks, also set on #2 hole. Mike |
stevo, the ones in the pics are straight dl's. yes I believe there is a curved version, but I don't think they make them anymore. curved is only needed if you use a "tighter" hole on the sway, but in reality the curved version isn't needed as the 996tt has soo much understeer I doubt anyone would even use the last two holes (tight) from the end. I have the fact GT3 hollow sways, set up maybe different for the H&R sways which are solid.

Oak, See my post above. They're still selling them. I'm using the H/R Swaybars and they're set on the number 2 hole.

mike, I think with the H&R sways you may need the curved version as there is one less hole and might get in the way. I think the GT3 sways has 4 holes and the H&R has 3 holes.

Well Damn, I learn something new every day!
Thanks Oak! Mike:cool: |
