Same day test MPSC vs NT-01
thanks and my findings on my own car. the Cups are slightly better but not worth the extra $. when I am needing an extra second it is the Hoosiers I turn to which beats both.
Did you mean orange pads FRONT black REAR??

Yeah, I agree, it makes it hard to spend the extra money, but the mushy turning feeling is aggravating for me.
The pads are Black fronts and Orange rears.
I'm going to run mostly scrubs for DE's and pull out the good stuff for competition. I was going to run Yoko's to assure I won Time Trials as I have been faster than the 454 Vette at Barber by a fraction on them. But my pride is fighting me because I dont like advantages even though I have probably 4 huge disadvantages:
Weight (-600 lbs)
Power (-170 rwhp)
-though he cant run those specs and stay in TTU so he'll have to detune +add weight
Aero (wind tunnel tested, vs stock w/ gt2 wing blade)
Brakes (GT2 fronts, vs Alcons)
I honestly think I can win with just A6's being that the Yoko's were scrubs and not in their prime, I think a new A6 would be as fast, or faster.
Being 1 second off the Road Atlanta lap record and owning the Barber lap record, I intend on getting and keeping both, so 08 will be a battle of epic proportions, I think I can take the RA record to 1:30 with some new yoko's, as I feel I could have run 1:32 on the Sport Cups with a great lap or just more completely clean laps.
But it will depend on how much he can get away with in terms of power and weight as he's already run 1:30 with about 630 rwhp and 2900 lbs of weight (but that's 4.46 lb/hp and the limit is 5.5 lbs/hp) right now I am only at 7.2 lbs/hp and with yoko's I'd only be at 6.45 so I could still add more power then or shave more weight.
At some point want to go for the maximum weight power ratio limit in TTU and set a record it will take a while to break. That will be in the 1:20's.
But as for our conversation on the modded 996 TT vs stock 997 GT3, I dont think there is any doubt the TT is potentially faster as I know pro drivers who have only claimed 1:35's.
I've been telling you guys about these tires for a while now. I use them on the EVO IX also.

Oh, my bad Al, 235's then.
Marty, I would get the NT-01's for the TX2K8 Event if I were you, at least over the sport cups, I think RA-1's are out of production so your only other choice would be R888 which I dont know anything about or Yoko Advans which are rediculously priced.
Maybe there are some I cam forgetting, but I would still go NT-01

Have you tried the Kuhmo Ecsta V700's? I ran them on a previous car, they had decent traction without needing to be warmed up but I never had anything to compare them to on that car. They are pretty inexpensive compared to the MPSC so they may be worth a try. Reading the reviews it seems they perform well but are pretty intolerant to very high operating temps. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....del=Ecsta+V700
Thanks for the great writeup.
