Upgrade to 997 turbo brakes

I havent had a chance to put the new set thru its paces yet but will be doing a 700km fast drive trip with a day at the track thrown in towards the end of the month so will have a better idea of how they stack up against the stock ones (with pagid yellows).
Will try to get you guys some pics asap...not very efficient over this end. Too much of the daily grind...

Leslie, track day next weekend right? Interested to see how the brakes go. I have yet to fit the UMW set I received from Kevin, have decided to get them installed rather than sell them. Once done, will bring the car to the next track day, wife and kids permitting (and assuming the pesky CEL doesnt rear its ugly head again).

just installed the Big Yellows brake kit from Kevin at UMW. They are the 996 GT3 brakes with 6 piston fronts, 4 piston rears on 350mm discs at all 4 corners. The system bolted right up with no mods necessary, and fit under the 18" stock wheels.
Noticed after the install that my brake pedal has a longer travel distance. Anyone else have this experience or do I need to bleed my brakes again?

So, I really wish that the ADMINs here would post the Brake DIY thread I started as a STICKY, but since they didn't, I'd recommend checking all the facts when dealing with brakes on your 996TT...
997 Turbo Brakes are a DIRECT BOLD ON to the 996 Turbo... DIRECT. All you need is rotors, calipers, pads, bolts, DONE!
It's really that simple.

I believe Mikelly on her or someone has confirmed that the 997tt rotor and the 996gt2,3 califper will work on our cars. I believe the disc on the 997tt is larger but I thought the caliper was the same. The issue is usually the rotor hat offset is different on the gt2 and gt3 but the 997tt rotor is supposed to bea direct bolt on with the6 pots. I also think the996 six pot and 997tt rotor still fitunder 18's.

996 GT3, 996 GT2, 997GT2, 997TT and 997GT3 FRONT Calipers are all the same part number per Sunset Imports (Porsche Dealer).
The rear calipers are different between the 996 GT3, 997 TT and 997 GT3 (probably same as 997 GT2).
We know that the 997TT and 996GT3 Rear calipers bolt up to a 996TT and both front and rear use 997TT rotors but can anybody confirm that 997GT3 rears will swap over?
I'm concerned due to the different part numbers...

No. A lot of people like the steel rotors better then the ceramic ones, so they swap them out.

Good info, thanks! I confirmed that the rear rotors for 997 GT3 and TT's are the same part number so that should bolt on no problemo...
The Rear caliper you are running-did it come from a Turbo or a GT3? The calipers do have different part numbers listed but not sure if there is actually truly any difference?
Also, the 08 and 09 Turbos have a different rear caliper part number than the 07's... Likely identical but interesting that they changed it nonetheless... Also a different part number for PCCB's but that's probably just paint color!
