FYI.....lot's of nice people on this forum.....

IA has a set of Fabspeed muff bypasses with cats....lightly used they probably would make a good deal on. I did not get to talking $$$ because I reviewed the fabspeed website with headphones on (do this.. it makes them sound much, much, much more realistic IMHO). I have to give Fabspeed credit...honest site. They show it the way it is...raw and real. Cudos to them. I also don't own anything fabspeed.

This is just an FYI on a possible good deal.

IAPorscheDoc was the person I dealt with. Super nice.

I have absolutely nothing to do with them....just sharing. I am not getting any discounts, kickbacks, etc. and don't have any planned work with them. I do respect them quite a bit....they are one of the best shops in the USA in my opinion. SK always shares and helps on forums.

FWIW: I think this is the set up on Tom Kerr's car....Tom, if you see this, please pipe in.

Yes it is, but was not loud enough for me so dropped the cats and now just run the straight pipe. Why have extra weight??
that is a great setup if you need to keep the emission thing going.

Car sounds bad ***!!! As I have said countless times before. also the disclaimer that it is certainly not for most people with this car. better for the hardcore track kinda guy, whomever they may be!!

Also for those of you guys calling the noise the engine makes drone? I dont understand what that means as that is what the engine sounds like, so ya gotta love it!!!!!

PS went off track, I can listen to the radio and carry a normal volume conversation in the cabin, for what its worth.

Thanks for the reply about the sound quality Tom. Drone is the resonance that sets up in a certain RPM range. The affected RPM range has a certain frequency associated with it, that gets into the cars interior and kind of floats around the cabin, blocking out other frequencies, and playing games on your ear drum. Thats my take anyways. It sucks.

BLKM3 is infamous around these parts
I have the fabspeed cat and muffler bypass pipes (no cats and no muffler) sounds wonderful! There is a lot of drone, but I love it. I like to know that there is something behind me working!

Drone is acoustical resonance, an excitation of wave pulses in the exhaust stream.

I have a Fabspeed full SuperSport (loud) system, and I was under the impression that the muffler and pipe bend radius combination caused the drone, since its been demonstrated that if you put vortex cones into the system AFTER the mufflers you can reduce the drone 50-75% (subjective guess by the car owners, but it greatly alleviated the problem).

However, when they put them BEFORE the bending and muffler, they heard little if any difference.

On a straight pipe, since there aren't bends or mufflers, I thought there wouldn't be any (or little) drone. Maybe that's why he says he doesn't have issues.
