Kevin,

I ceramic coated my headers. I used Performance Coating. Two coats, the first for 2,000 degrees. The second took it up to 2,400 degrees. Due to expansion and contraction the second coat flaked like snake skin. We did this twice and twice it flaked. You can't beat the wraping. In addition to better response, your engine compartment runs so much cooler.

Kevin,

The color of the ceramic coating on the last set of headers was black.

996ttr,

I missed your earlier post. By your comment, I could not tell you if headers are the right choice for you. How much power do you currently have? Where do you want to be?

A little over a year ago 500 rwhp on the 996tt was like the Holy Grail. Today, it can be attained rather easily with an ECU, K-24 turbo's and a good exhaust. The cost per hp is realitively inexpensive.

Push much beyond 530 rwhp and your costs rise dramaticly. You will start spending a lot of money for each additional hp you attain. Good properly tuned ceramic headers with wrapping fall into this later catagory.

They make power when correctly installed in the proper power range. They do not make as much power as changing exhaust, turbo's or an initial ECU change. The cost per hp for this additional power is very expensive compared to earlier attained gains.

If you still think you are a candidate, let me know as there is no problem putting you in contact with right person who would take you up on your offer.
