Does and Don't for Newbie Turbo Owners
We should have a list of common stuff all us owners have gone through. For instance, nobody's gas tank fills properly. And when washing you car, never pop the hood with the wiper blades away from the winshield. Never leave the rear wiper out when drying the rear window, crap like that.

I agree. Here's mine: Never put spinners on your car no matter how neat they look.

Don't try so stick the key on the right side of the steering column, to start it!:D

Resist buying all the crap you think you need personalize your car right away. Half of what you think you want will end up in the garage after a few months. Does anyone want to buy a black leather bra (for your 996 turbo, not the wife).
|
I got a bra too, one made for 01 model with bumperettes. I removed the bumperettes and never even tried putting the bra on. Also, once you lower your car, have a standing order for the black plastic piece that is right past your spoiler lip underneath, I broke 4 already in parking space stops. And if your car sits a while your clutch will be differcult to press down. I have had it fix 6 times already. If your car sits for a few days (around 5), you will need the key in the door to open it.

When searching for a turbo tuning kit... do not believe the hype the tuners use to sell the products... drive at least 2 similar kits before you take the plunge.. hehe

Get a battery tender if you think it might sit idle for more than a couple weeks.

Battery tender
Boy do I agree with that, if you drive it daily forget it. If you think you want to change something on the car check the forum for info, ITS GREAT.
