I know someone that has k24/18Gs with he upgraded wastegetas.. $3K that's a steal.

How old are they? i presume they are in good condition? I will need a ECU tune for them too...any recommendations...? :) Thanks

ASk UNVMYM3 he has it... it comes down to other smaller turbos that spool up 400 rmps faster but die sooner... the other nice thing is that u can always upgrade and not get stuff with turbos that you just paid 2 or 3K for...

Thanks for the advise Markski, Im trying to decide between a 16/16g or a k24. Im kinda not looking for top end but more low to mid end flavor..so I guess I want good torque. Like to leave the engine pretty much stock. Have just put in Maxspeed Exhaust n Headers, EVOMs Intake, DVs, 5 bar FPR, Plenum Upgrade from DPS. I need an ECU flash tuning, cos I dont want any down time. So with this setup, pretty much the Turbos are the last piece of hardware in for me . So what do you think K24/18g or 16/16G. Rgds MT:):)

Well, a k16/16g vs a stock k24 I would choose a k16/16g.
As far as a k16/16g vs a k24/18g.... it really comes down to ur choice. I drove a 4 k24/18gs at 600 and at 700 hp... I liked them. I really dont care about TQ in 1st gear or second when IM spinning tires.... I rather have a slightly bigger and thus laggier turbo so when Im getting on it it doesnt wheel hop and spin tires... delivers power all the way...
the same goes if u compare a k24/18g to a aK24/20g... the 18G dies where the 20gs take over...

markski
ps... if ue worried about lag.. here is what I have... and Im at full boost at 4300 rpms...

Thats a cool setup dude!...I see what you mean.....what abt the ECU tuning from Proto? How much will that cost me? Rgds MT

markski@markskituning Feb 29, 2008 01:43 PM

Well yes... proto has the program... and my friend has the turbos.... its a no brainer...

SpeedYellow Feb 29, 2008 01:45 PM

you've got too much stuff (upgrades) to stick with SMALL turbos at this point. I'd definitely do the 24/18's if I were going to spend the money right now. pointless to go with 16G's when your marginal output might not get you anywhere from where you are at now. with the 24/18's you can always add boost later for more power. 16g's will be immediately maxxed out
