This has been brought up many times, do a search.

I think most believe 600whp, but I have seen 700+ whp (Jamies GT2). Not sure how long that will last though....

600HP coupled with boost under 1.2 bar and high octane gas should give you the most reliable combination.

About 700 crank HP or 600whp (on good gas) or about from what I've been told for longevity (sp?) purposes you want about 575whp max on pump gas. Anything more than that is pushing it. These are the numbers I'm shooting for safety purposes.

It depends a lot how you use the car.

I wouldn't go much past 600hp myself. A lot of track and autobahn driving here. The German tuning companies start opening the engine after 600hp and that might be the reason why I see only few tuning kits from Germany in this forum if they are within the same power but cost more.

Actually, the tests against different cars we've made tell that European tuners might offer more speed with the same stated numbers

Many here seem to have no problems with 700hp so do as you like

I would not go past 625 crank hp on stock internals, just not worth the risk IMHO

That's a pretty complicated question. I think it goes beyond raw HP number to how the car is actually performing.

Which is more likely to go first:
A 600hp car at 1.5 bar of boost running lean with EGTs off the charts
OR
A 650hp car at 1.1 bar with a steady 12 AFR?

I'll take that 650 car any day of thew week. Of course, if the car is making clean power but there's just so much of it that it's bending rods, that a whole nother animal.

I the early days the opinion was that 600 hp was the limit but it is now known that they can withstand a lot more.I know of one 996tt that is over 700hp and runs on pump gas @ 1.5 bar and over boosts @1.8 on stock internals.

Can you tell me what's the turbo this car using? What's the setup? I am trying to get a 700+ setup but was told not to boost up over 1.2 bars by pumping gas.
