Does the 997TT have a wider track at the front because of its wheel setup and not suspension? I assume the fenders are wider.

I just checked 996TT stock wheel and its 8J ET50 and 997TT is 8.5J ET56, my calcs says the outer wheel is the same?? But I know the track is wider 1465mm v 1490mm. I guess im missing something??
The 997 actually has a more narrow track in the front as well as the rear. The car itself it wider than the 996, but where the mounting surface of the wheels meet in relationship to the fender the 997 is more narrow.

That is why the offsets on wheels for 997 TT are more conservative and higher than the 996TT.

Since I am using the 997 TT body panels with stock 996 suspension, I can put a more aggressive wheel.

Duma,
where was the picture of Audi Quattro Sports taken?

A local family here in Minnesota has (5) of them, including a white "sport"
model.

I have driven stock ones, and highly modified ones. Very cool car!

Was this more cost effective than to start with a 997TT as the donor car?

Getting close to picking the car up. Simon at Auto Talent says car will be ready on Friday. Then its back to the body shop to put on the rear bumper and off to the Dyno to see what this car makes.

Also I just receive some more carbon fiber pieces from Germany. I am trying to cover almost everything inside the car in carbon fiber.

Went to Auto Talent this weekend to check out the car. It seems they have turned into a Porsche tuning shop. Saw a 997 GT2 in person. Wow what an amazing car. Love the new carbon fiber seats. They also had a 997 GT3 and three 996 TT in there getting various work done.

Here are some updated pictures of my car. All the 997 turbo ducting is installed as well as the intercooler brackets. The HR front and rear sways are also installed as well as the K24 18G turbos, Max Speed K24 Headers, Exhaust, and the Speed Gallery 1.2 bar wastegate. The 997 TT intercoolers were test fit and they fit perfect. The car will be ready to pick up this week and then its off to the body shop to put the rear bumper on, install the new 993 vented hood and for a color sanding and buffing.

Softronic software will be loaded next week. The project is almost done. I just ordered some more carbon fiber interior parts and will unveil the car with a full blown photo shoot in a few weeks.

Serious project!!! Being in the automotive collision business I can understand what type of work goes into rebuilding a car...but this is beyond amazing.

Can't wait for more pictures...please continue to keep us updated..
