I am thinking of getting their new shifter zr4 with one of their detectors. I currently have an old 8500 which has been pretty good but thinking of getting the 9500 + the zr4 which seems like a nice setup. My questions - does the shifter really work? and what do you tell a cop when they pull you over which I imagine eventually happens... Also, I tried V1 30 days but got tired of the constant false alarms. Any thoughts welcome.

 

if your worried about the laser shifter part....don't worry the shifters plug into the 9500 and even your existing 8500 with no seperate display needed. All shifters are external. Only 7 states are they illegal to use in. Not sure of Ohio... call Escort...1-800-543-1608

 

you cannot jamm radar because its regulated by the FCC but laser is regulated by the FDA which has no restrictions on bending/breaking/jamming laser. Only recently the individual states have caught on and started chnging there laws for the purpose of tickets.

 

however, I assume it is not perfect so eventually you will get caught. I am curious to find out what the discussion goes like when you get pulled over and the cop knows for a fact that you were jamming his laser gun...

I didn't know the gun was loaded.

 

I had a 9500 and quit using it when I didn't see or hear the officer that hit me with instant on Lidar... It was BLIP/ DONE! Busted. Fortunately he gave me a warning. That day, I was done using my new radar/laser detector.

you install the button to shut the system off. when the unit says shifting...you hit the button twice and shut it off. it will jam the initial hit and then you must slow quickly and shut it off...they do not get a fix on you...so off you go.

 

Most cops pase you anyways so detectors are a joke... and even if you are succefull jamming they will pull you over anyways for excessive speed, endangering the lives of others etc...
use V1 but be prudent... pure and simple...
