Awesome!!! Congrats.

I have the same car (2005 Turbo S Cab). I have the Revo flash, dv's, light weight battery and triple disk clutch. Flash and clutch are a great start.

NineNineSixTT Jul 3, 2008 07:21 PM

congrats.... you also have x-50..

dublinoh Jul 3, 2008 07:33 PM

I think start with pss10 coilovers (especially if you don't have track ambitions, otherwise coilover choice is more complicated) Looks better and handling is improved...help you deal with future power mods

Also think it looks great!

MY996TT Jul 3, 2008 07:48 PM

Great! You will be very happy selecting a cab.

One note on the lowering springs, most people who had done it experienced handling problems. Like dublinoh mentioned, coilovers are the way to go.

Kamran Jul 3, 2008 09:21 PM

awesome!...Congrats.

FASTLANE Jul 3, 2008 09:48 PM

thanks for all of the suggestions and compliments guys. I came from a 05' 997 carrera and I can not believe the differences mostly with acceleration and torque as well as the pccb they are ridicoulous. I love this car.

jhuang25 Jul 3, 2008 10:12 PM

i agree... get the coilovers, i got springs first and hated the way the car handled...

brain police Jul 3, 2008 10:13 PM

Congrats

Congrats Fastlane. I also recommend PSS10s to improve ride and handling, ECU flash (I went with Revo and I'm happy with it), billet DVs and K & N panel filter (cheap first step, can go conical later).

The car looks excellent.

FASTLANE Jul 3, 2008 10:28 PM

What type of gains are you guys getting with these mods. That will also help me make my list.

Staff@RPM Jul 3, 2008 10:31 PM

Hi...Congrats, Super clean car ...... Do you have 3M clear bra ? I would start there then go to some of the meets and drive the modded cars (Quite a few in the tri-state) that are there and form your opinion for there... Tim

FASTLANE Jul 3, 2008 10:34 PM

Thanks for the advice Tim, in answer to your question the car has clear bra and as far as meet I've done a few ust never drove anything except my base 997.

You might want to consider a wastegate mod for those K24s (ie the bigger turbos in the X50). It will let you hold 1.1-1.2bar reliably when combined with a 70mm exhaust and flash

I did exhaust, wastegates, diverter, UMW flash. Which served to highlight the suspension weaknesses. JIC is next.

Wheels will be last.

Congrats!

Hmmm....that is one HOT cab, nice choice!!! ;)
Lower with coilovers, not just springs, type (such as PSS9 or PSS10s, JIC, Motons) depends on your ultimate goal of adjustibility and ride height as well as intended expenses.
