For you Porsche guys who love Ducati's

My Mom's neighbor collects bikes - mostly hogs and choppers but recently he got into Ducati's - He let me test out the 999 special edition - this particular one is one of 200 and is all carbon fiber! The bike was to much for me to handle - scared the pants off me - anyway here are a few pics -

You cant tell in the pic - but I was still shanking with adrenaline from the test run in this pic :)

Bikes scare the crap out of me

Ducati's are scary bikes, though I think the 996 is extremely sexy.

Is it an R? I can't tell from the pics.

I think it is an R. Looks sweet.:D

KPV Aug 9, 2004 08:49 PM

It is not an R. They have red trellis frames.

My Bad. Saw the wheels and the single seat and assumed that it was.

Ken the bike did say R after the 999 on the fairing on it - it also had a plaque on the dash #177 out of 200 - I am sure you know more than me on this subjuect though - i just got into bikes

Glad you enjoyed the experience. It reminds me of my first ride.
I miss my DUC!!!!!!!

Ke, FYI, I had one of the 50 homologation 955s in addition to an early 916, then a 996SPS. Love those bikes except for the riding position. Haven't ridden a 999 since I got out of sport bikes. The new R with 150 bhp sure sounds interesting, though.

bikes....are...to....fast..

To fast for me damnit!

I dont mind if I'm driving, but never ever go on the back of a bike (dont need to worry about that on a ducati) but on an either make, dont go on the back, I nearly wet myself with my friend on the back of his R1

It is an R but not all R's have red frames?? I have one of the first R's made in 03 and it has a grey frame. all carbon fiber body work and magnesium scattered throughout. Awsome bike!!!!!

Pricey too at 36K

I wish you guys would quit posting these photos, all it does is make me want to place a few calls. I really miss my SPS, and j certainly an Agusta would fill the bill. :D
