What do these intakes do in terms of induction noise? Does it sound any better? Personally, I'm not chasing power as its a quick enough car as is. Would like some induction noise to complement my stainless exhaust.

 

the bmc or a k&n alone will increase the sound and commensurate airflow flow through the filter box that once had ONE opening and now has two. i have a similarly cut open air box ( ala 997 ) that i imagine still generates greater capacity of air but does nothing to enhance the noise or sound of the intake.
when i did notice the decrease in *noise* was when i removed the BMC and went back to the oem mahle. i don't notice ANY discernible loss of "power" for having gone back to the paper, but i sure do feel better about less soot and particulates that would be staring back at me from the air box.

i can see leaving the box cut on both sides, but not running an oiled flat panel filter. all i could ever imagine what what was it NOT trapping and thereby allowing into my intake.
