ken i know you frustrated , i have been what you going through.. and i was thinking of just selling the car alltogther , but after i worked it ou man i was glad i didnt do anything stupid .and the hassle was worth it. thank god for protosport.

my point is , stick with it for abit more .it wont be the money you willpay to get the kit off . either send it to dan .... or kilgrit in toronto and get eveything worked out. i assure you the problem is something insignificant .wastegate or ebc related. the grinn it will put on ur face after its figured out will be priceless.

How about a compromise. The installing workshop provides the facility/dyno FOC, Dan puts somebody on a 3hr $500 flight to Vancouver and the OP buys the beer/ hotel afterwards.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Between flights, meals, beers, hotels and Dyno time, For less than a "G" or so, Dan guarantees everyone's happy? He already said if he cannot get the kit to put 500+ to the wheels on pump, he will take the kit off and refund. That offer still on the table? Dan? Ken? Anybody listening?

I am in if Dan agrees to fly his tech out here, of course the car has to run safely in terms car not over boosting the car to achieve the minimum 500 wheels hp level and also the car cannot be leaning out as well. I believe these requests are reasonable, and if the car still does not make the promised hp range, I hope Dan will step up and stand behind his product. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ken - thought you already took the kit off your car? You have/had it for sale...

Sorry not going to happen. It may or may not be a 1 day thing, you might need parts changed that I only have here, the shop may not have proper tools, there are to many what ifs and there is no reason to waste anymore of anyones time or money. It wont just be $500... Car comes here if you want it done right. What any other shop would do is if you bring the car here and we fix it because of installation error, then you pay the labor. I feel bad for you as you have gotten hosed from other shops and I felt that if you invested in bringing your car here, then I would not even bother charging you any amount of time or replacement parts, or dyno runs to get your car working and make you happy.

OK let's go back to arguing about whose fault it was and those of us that live a long way away from specialist installers will think about whether we should buy off the shelf packages.

This is a pretty good example of why you need to either stick with the closest EVOMS network of resellers that do this stuff in their sleep and can service the car when issues creep up, or obviously ship your car to one of the top custom tuners when doing anything beyond an off the shelf turbo/flash package. I've never heard of anything close to this mess happening at a shop owned by the tuner/wrench.

Vivid is simply outside their expertise when servicing a mail order turbo package. Sounds like when buying DV's, hose kits, wheels, etc....and price is important....Vivid can be a good alternative. But beyond that, you're risking another post like this one....

Vivid Racing services customers worldwide.. We have a customer in Australia running this kit, another there also running a k24/18G which we helped fine tune for him. I have 2 of these kits in the UK, 2 of them in Dubai, and then a handle full here. We have customers in Romania we have sent cars to, built professional athletes vehicles, deal with high end customers in South America, and much more. We are willing to and have stated we will fix the customers car for free and get it working for him if he can transport it to here. We are doing this out of want, not need. We simply cannot take our facility to Canada. This will be my last post on this thread. We have supported the customer and our product to our fullest capabilities within reason.

It sounds to me like there is STILL an opportunity to get it fixed for nothing, except for travel...

Also Ken, as most would probably agree, don't get hung up on a number. It seems there are some cars that may have made 480ish to the wheels and some may have made 530ish, on pump of course. If you go to Vivid and Dan fixes everything and it only makes a safe good running 499 to the wheels, what will you do? It could happen and be no fault of Dans.

I'd like to add my $0.02. At the end of the day, Ken is upset and Dan wants to stand behind his product/service. If I was Ken, I'd fork out the cost to ship the car to Dan and have him fix and tune for free. The only "fault" that of Vivid's that I can see in all of this (unless I missed something) was that the error in the instructions.

Ken, don't give up...you're halfway there (may need to spend another $2k or something more) and you will have your car the way you expected. I know it sucks and I'm sure you learned a huge lesson here but honestly, is your "sanity" and happiness worth more than the $2k of transport fees? If it is, send the car to Vivid and have them work it out.

I just hope that if Ken does decide to ship his car to Vivid, there won't be any unexpected surprises in terms of damage incurred from the mis-install, etc.

Edwin

How do you figure, you have had a hard on for taking a shot at ViVid for some time. This isn't there fault. They (THE OP) installed the EBC wrong and they (VIVID) even offered to fix it for free. Get off your highhorse abour ViVid because the only ones that think they are at fault is the OP, his friend and you which really amounts to nothing IMO

Also, Dan you should answer this ?, how many turbo kits have you sold on 6Speed alone and how many issues have you had like this?
