Just a bunch of wires for now....

What is it supposed to be, a stand alone?

slant911 Oct 6, 2008 03:23 PM

It's a beautiful nest of wiring....

Let me guess... you're in the process of putting in (3)-JLAudio 10W7's and had to pull the ECU temporarily out of the way so you can line up and mount your Fosgate amps and AudioControl crossovers?hilarious

Looks to me like pre-wiring of a Motec.

Or maybe something a little more simple, and hasn't been used on a 996tt before!? Hmmmmmm

Simple is flashing your car with the same preset flash that everyone else has, we're looking to move things up a notch.

What you're seeing is our test jumper harness that just arrived. The first piece of the plug and play standalone process. The factory harness plugs into one end, the other end plugs into the factory ECU, leaving about 6-8 inches of wire that can be manipulated for another function without touch the factory ECU or the factory wiring harness.

Nice!! Interested to see the outcome. Thanks.

I agree! A+ for Titan for bringing car audio to the next level! :D

Wow, its great to see another vendor taking things up a notch! This effort benefits everyone in the community.

It's so the audio volume and balance will automatically
adjust according to the engine RPM and throttle position.

What do I win?

It's a GPS tracking system so are tunners can see where we are at all times.....no more shoping around with the competition or your tunner takes your BOOST AWAY......

Wish you guys luck... its a big undertaking... especially with a Motec. Its easy on a Cup car... but a street car with PSM and power windows it's a different story...
good luck,
markski

You still see the stock ECU in the picture? With the PNP harness we can leave some functions stock, and have others controlled and logged with the Motec. Same as it's been done by others, just without the need to cut and splice wires. Plug your factory ECU into the jumper harness, the harness in to the factory wiring harness and load the specificed Map. The engine is managed by the Standalone engine management, the car by the factory circuitry. For a race car it's possible we can remove the stock ECU all together, but for a street car it'll likely remain.

This is only the begining of the process, we should also have the availability of running 4 seperate maps completely independent of one another that can be turned by a switch. You want to run .8lbs on 93 octone at the road course, 1.2 bar on the street and 1.4 bar on MS109, just pick your map. Logging, track mapping, anti-lag, etc are all also improvements we hope to implement.

To answer the next question, why wasn't this done in the 5-6 years of 996TT tuning? Like the Tilton, I don't know.....

Telemetry is an available feature that we normally choose to leave locked in the ECU.... :)
