diference betwen K24 AND K24/18g's
Hi i have plane K24 turbos on my 2002 TT,but i need to know what diference does it make,in horse power,to have K24/18g's.My care is working grate.

depending on what you do to the 18g upgrade.... your looking at 100 rwhp extra....

markski i am interesting in the extra 100 hp.But what is realy the work done to the turbos so they impruve so much ??.I've seen in this forum also 20 g' .What does it realy means.

Dont know about the 20g set up..But I can say a whole lot about the 18g set up. Turbo lag? What is that? Reliable power on tap always at any event you want to go to. If you are into 1/4 mile.... its awesome.. if you are into top end runs... you'll have a blast!! And best of all.. THE PRICE... You've got to love that the best....

dmaffo you are saying 18g' setup has turbolage and 20g' setup does not have turbolag ???.I do not want turbolag.

NO TURBO LAG WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!! I was being sarcastic.... lol... I dont know the 20g set up coz I dont have any in car experience with one.. But I can definetely tell you that the 18g set up is monster compared to anything on the road... Unless you come acrss someone with deep deep deep pockets running some crazy stuff coz I blew the doors off many higher HP cars that couldnt put it on the road... WHILE they spun I was gone!! Porsche with this set up on the street is a true monster!! If you put some ms109 and know how to use your ebc... YOU ARE In for a serious treat!!

well it seems to me that k24/18g setup has become the most popular in 996TT...from my experience it is awesome...Its the first time i say I do not need more power...this is enough...first time I thing about upgrading brakes...and suspension though...I am trying to find a car to be able to pass me(except more powerful TTs)...This setup is a stock one...no need for anyhting else like the garett setups...so less money spended...just a pair of turbos,software,exhaust and you are over 600hp...

as people have stated the turbos have the capacity to flow significantly more air at similar boost levels...but you need to realize that optimizing the software tuning is just as important as upgrading the turbos. Be prepared to upgrade injectors, fuel pump, wastegates, software, etc if you plan on safely netting that magical 100whp :-)

true....but I was on stock injectors.... stock plenum and stock fuel pump and have a handful of 10 sec passes.... The software IS IN FACT a biggie though... Todd really made the magic happen in the car... YOU MUST GET yourself a good magician!! lol...

Can you do the K24/18g whitout doing any thing else to your car and it is COMPLETLY SAFE.I alredy have the K24,chiped ECU,fabspeed 200 cel muffler,evo diverter valves and K&N filter.I want to improve it,but i can NOT spend much.When USA catch the flu,my country got NEUMONIA.
