Looks like I'm going to paying a visit to Autometric soon to check out the whip. I'll test drive it to verify everything is good. You can pick it up from my house a few miles from the shop. :-)

Btw, I already did a DIY for my rears here. I don't plan on getting the sides but if I do, I'll definitely do one.

Ohh, I'm very sorry about that!

I'll try to make it up for you one day hopefully I do i right this time! I think threads like this is very useful and always good to have around so much appreciated!

You said before that you had a "body man" that change a lot to the TA front etc. Have you any price idea about much it would coast to fix what you did but in a shop?

Kind regards,
Swed

Swed,

No prob bro.. no big deal

I will venture to guess that if you take this to a shop and if they really spent the time to make everything right before they spray it, I'd expect no less than $1500 and wouldn't be surprised if it was almost $2k

don't forget you payed a quarter of the price as TechArt would have charged you, so a bit prep work and adjustments here and there is not too bad :-)
I still have two of my original carbon fiber lips laying around, I had used 4 over the time one used painted flat black and one still in original wrapping carbon fiber

So the CONCLUSION here is simply don't buy the MISHA item as its too much hassle (in 2009 I installed a MISHA GT2 rear wing and its absolutely fine) and go for the Precision Porsche item, even though it costs more but fits better ?

Richard (btw, this is M32, the OP)

Please keep in mind that I made this thread way before I got involved with Precision Porsche. In fact, I didn't buy precision porsche TA front b/c it was more expensive.

Here's my $0.02 since I've installed both the MISHA and the PP front personally. I know I might get flamed for this but I'll try to be as unbiased as possible.

MISHA VS PP TA front comparison

Top air intake: Precision Porsche.... hands down, the fit and finish is way better. The gaps between the slats on the MISHA was horrible

Radiator ducts: Precision Porsche... b.c the PP radiator ducts DO NOT have the three slats in them like the MISHA ones (which was the main problem). If the MISHA did not have slats, it would have been a tie

Bumper cover: Tie... both are a very tight fit but once you get the hang of how to install, it'll be ok.

Lips: Precision Porsche. The PP bumper comes with the lower lip already mounted on the bumper and the lip is a little thicker

Radiator splitters: Precision Porsche... MISHA's bumper does not offer that option

Price: MISHA...but once again, the MISHA one does not include the radiator splitters so it's not a true apples to apples comparison.

Verdict: if you like to DIY and know how to work on FG or have a body shop connection, MISHA's is a good buy... but keep in mind that you WILL spend a lot of extra hours cleaning up the peices.

Just my $0.02

Edwin

tvm Edwin so please pm me your current VERY best offer shipped to CH 8132 Switerland, with smaller front splitter ( I have just trashed my Carbon front lip spoiler and would prefer NOT to go through that process again)

Great write up! I just can not accept that a part that costs 1K+ requires this much prep work and headache. I'd be pissed!

I guess you can say both

I started out as just another enthusiast here on the 6. I contacted Misha and PP when I wanted to get the TA front bumper. PP was more expensive mainly b/c they include the radiator splitters while MISHA's didn't have that as an option. I went with MISHA and was satisfied (I guess) with their product. I then order PP rear TA skirts and they fit very well. After that, I contacted him and became his online sales guy.

I'll send you a pm on the front bumper and sides. Thanks for your interest

Edwin
