That is an uncommon color. I do not recall seeing an Orient Red Turbo in the flesh so to speak. What an outstandingly beautiful and distinctive color and even better with a black interior. Congratulations, awesome ride too. I'm sure your son and you will never forget it. Enjoy.

Enjoy! Great color.

Thanks and love the color of yours. I will be back in AZ over the Holidays and will have it out on the roads enjoying that outstanding AZ winter air. Hope to see you on the road sometime.

Welcome to the Six Mac!
Beutiful color with the chrome 997 TT wheels and black interior.
The roadtrip sounds like one both you and your son will always enjoy in your memories. Tell us about your oversee's lifestyle. Sounds interesting. |

Sker66, thanks for your input. I have lived overseas for about 15 years now. I retired in 2006 while working at the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile. I am still here awaiting my wife's retirement with the U.S. Army. I have lived in Lagos Nigeria, Beiurt Lebanon, Riga Latvia, Kiev Ukraine and Chile. We have travelled to places unknown but can't wait to get back to the states for good. Might be moving to Virginia to work part time for a few years. Hope my 996TT handles the harsh East Coast weather okay.
Can't wait to get back to my car that is awaiting me in Arizona. Thanks again for your remarks. |
Mac......Sounds like a very adventurous career.
I know how you feel about the US. I lived and worked in South Korea for a year and even though it was a great eye opening experience i couldn't wait to get back. Virginia is a beautiful place and has some great roads you will enjoy the TT on. Good luck and enjoy........Geno |

Mac, Have you ever been to the free auto show every Saturday night called the Scottsdale Pavilions auto show? If not it's at 9175 E. Indian Bend Rd. Scottsdale right off the Indian Bend Rd. exit on Rt. 101. I went for the first time two weeks ago and it's a blast. There needed to be more Porsche representation but still enormous fun.
Serious show of American muscle, about 25 Corvettes for example, 442s, Mustangs of every description on and on--beautiful cars. Also more serious exotica in the form of a real 427 AC Cobra, two Lambos, a couple of Maseratis, and two Ferraris, two Panteras and the extremely rare and valuable American muscle car a Hemi-Cuda. Of course lots of tuner cars of every description. There were only two Porsches on the scene--my Turbo and a 911T from '70 or '71. People start arriving at 4 PM and it just builds through 6 PM and beyond. If you have not been there before you take the exit for Indian Bend and head North--can't miss it the whole scene is in the parking lot of a mall on the right called the Pavilions and it's fronted by a McDonalds. If you're home for the holiday and staying over the weekend your son and you might enjoy it, we might get to meet and represent Porsches as they should be. Regardless have a great holiday, Jeff |
