No new ET best for me.. But I'm happy!

Well I made it to the track tonight for a "Midnight 1320" event at Lonestar Motorsport Park. Pauliewalnuts, my brother (Lil Powell), _Zac, and a few friends made it out there.

I was on my 19s (with BRAND new as of this morning PS2s in the back) and the car was AWD. Last time at the track with a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas I weighed 3600lbs (exactly which was the funny part, with me in the car). I had 3/4 of tank of gas of 110 and 93 mixed. I had the boost controller set to make 23.0psi (this was my peak after the runs, no clue what it was sustained). The weather was in the high 50s.

First pass I rolled out of the hole and bogged... Shut down at what I thought was the end of the 1/4 (I didn't realize I had just shifted 4th).. So that run sucked.

Second and final run I tried to slip the clutch at about 4k and I ended up taking it to close to 5k before it got moving. It spun and hopped, I peddled it 2 times before it hooked. Got it into 2nd and boy did she start moving. I ended up running a 11.7 @ 135.7mph. Almost 136mph which is pretty good for a tank like my car.

Over all I am very happy with the results because I know if I wouldn't have had to peddle the car it would have picked up a mph or two easily.. As you know peddling a turbo car basically drops the boost which sucked.

I'll go back to the track eventually and try for my 10sec pass, but for now I am happy!

Good results.

Congrats Chris, she will go deep in the 10's for sure ,you just need a couple more times at the track.

PAULIEWALNUTS Nov 23, 2008 08:10 AM

Very impressed with chris's MPH,the car is def. in the mid to high 10's.
Matt's car ( chris's brother) is just to violent, he can not get traction,he was sliding back and forth all the way down the track, thats what a built motor on a 300 shot will get you, no traction w/slicks on aq prepped track, if Matt's car ever hooks holy crap look out!!!

Matt,

Good result and it shows that how difficult it is to make these cars get into the
10's as you have plenty of power now! Good trap speed!

Poly
I was wondering if I can bring the car by on wednesday? I need a complete detail?
Robert

Dr_jitsu Nov 23, 2008 11:06 AM

Paulie will do it if you bring him a *******...IE Poly wants a *******.

Rob, I take that there was not a spelling segment on your journey to become a plastic surgeon, yes?

Speaking of which, can I bring the wife by your office? She has been doing well recently w/ her training and diet, but needs a post baby detail:D

AMAZING MPH!! HOLY SMOKES!! Practice practice... every time you go down try something new and remember what you did last time so you can correct and improve on your runs... theres so much "science" into this 1/4 thing.... lol.. I thought it was just pedal to the metal!!! NOT!!!!!!!! everything has a counter reaction... if you do this than that....!! Cant wait to get your results with good traction and good launch!! LOOK OUT!!

I need to get use to these turbos more. When I had stock turbos I cut a few 1.7x 60fts, but with these I'm not use to making up for the turbo lag. I'll get it down eventually, like everyone says "Practice makes perfect" :).

I want to take a little weight out of the car some how because she is a PIG!!! I still want to stay AWD though.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't have any video of my passes only time slips, because my brother decided to not record me. I will post a video of the passes Paul talked about, because you hear a few people go (almost everyone in the crowd said the same thing) "HOLY SH!T!!!!"

Adam Bowles Nov 23, 2008 12:26 PM

Wow, nice trap speed, Chris! With that MPH, you'll definitely get into the 10's.

Good luck!

PAULIEWALNUTS Nov 23, 2008 12:33 PM

Rob
Tuesday would be better,Wednesday will be busy with it being the day before Thanksgiving.

MBailey Nov 23, 2008 02:37 PM

Good job. There is more than enough terminal mph to get that car into the mid 10s!!

Iam glad someone else has trouble getting these beasts off the line fast. I was really upset with myself at the TX mile about my starts.
