Actually, that was a few months ago. 02s are now in the mid to high 70's at the Manheim auctions. You're right about the color yellow though... A yellow 02 X50 with 20k miles just went for $74K!!! I missed out on that one, but I'm going to be getting something this fall/winter since the prices come down a lot during these seasons...
mid-high 70's? I just sold my black one (trade actualy so got tax benes) wholesale for $85k with 13,000 miles and it needed a little paint work. I wonder if it's the debut of the new body style 997 that's causing a price drop?

The dealer likely gave you a premium for your trade so they could make a lot of money on the car they were selling you. Also, prices have dropped in the past few weeks because the summer is coming to an end. Turbo prices always go down in the fall and winter.

Its all relative to what market you are in. I have an 02 x50 with 13k miles. My dealer offered to write me a check for 95k and buy the car. That was about a month ago.

Evan,

Keep your car!! I had a chance to drive a 997 C2S this past weekend and although it is an impressive car, its no turbo. It feels slower than my Z8 to be honest. The torque or lack thereof is what really struck me. The handling is world class but the car has become to refined and its not that fast.

Originally posted by Duane on 7/26/2004 I agree with Eva, in South Florida and Cali the turbo market is a lot stronger. I was offered 118k for my x50 from a dealer three months ago putting it back to stock.
Wow, so your X50 depreciated from $118K to $95K in just over 3 months!? Unreal!!!

At the time I was offered 118k it was during the 04 production run when production was very limited. Once the release of the Turbo S X50's have really taken a bath. So yes it is dissapointing that we have seen such a drop in the past few months. But hell even if I got 118k for my car I would be at a 100k loss.

Keep the car, wait for a while. You should not rush.

It was a bid to buy with or without me buying a new car from them....and the same offer from more than one dealer. I'm certainly not complaining!
