Help Needed from PCM1 Gods

Hello,

I posted earlier that my instrument cluster was not communicating with my PCM1 in my 2002 Turbo. I took it to the Porsche dealership in Tucson Arizona and they are telling me that the the nav disk that I am using is not the right software for my system and now there is a conflict and there is nothing they can do about it. Here are the facts:

1. I have a 16 bit PCM1 that was original to the car. The nav disk is an original porsche disk and my understanding is that there is only one software version (one type of disk) that will work anyways on the 16 bit system.

2. The nav system works fine with the disk that is installed.

3. The nav feature on the inst cluster and the speed "limit" feature do not seem to communicate with the inst cluster. For example, I can set the limit to 85 using the PCM1 BC and it will not show up on the instrument cluster BC and vis versa. The temp and clock are also different between the inst cluster and PCM display.

4. The nav directions show fine on the PCM but do not show anything on the inst. cluster, just the word "navigation" with a few lines underneath it.

5. The dealer tells me that the best guess is that there is some type of software mismatch and they cannot return it to factory settings once it has been installed.

6. My argument to them is that the nav disk could not have caused this as it is the correct part number for my system.

Can anything be done to correct this problem. Any and all help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Z4MET.
