Stopped by the dealer today...

in search of used Turbo. Says he has a 03 turbo, 16000 miles, carbon everything coming in. 120k msrp, and he'll sell for 90k. He will Porsche certify it also. Is that a good deal? It sounds good to me...but I'll let the experts weigh in.

Second...I was playing around with the 997 S they had and asked about the phone keypad. Turns out in the next few months, Porsche is gonna release an update that will allow you to insert you cell phone SIM card into the dash and use the keypad for a true integrated phone. Sounded awesome and is a brilliant idea. Why get a car kit for your phone, when all you need is the SIM card. Thought you guys would like to know.

Thanks

Sounds like a decent deal to me. Perhaps you can try and get another 5K knocked off.

Not everybody has a SIM chip in their phones. My Verizon is 100% self contained. It sounds like they are in the bed with cingular.

Based on history alone, I would highly doubt Porsche will do anything to these vehicles to enhance usability with cellular. They suck at it. The audio in general is encumbered by the MOST bus, and integrating phones is not on the top of the list at PAG. Give it a couple of years, maybe then they'll get it right.

besides, the phone that comes in the PSM is programmed for europe/asia's GSM bands, not the USA's. highly unlikely.

besides if porsche cared about real multimedia/user friendly integration of multimedia systems into the cars, they wouldnt use the MOST bus.

That dealer is ripping you off bad. 120K for a used 03 996TT? They are asking new sticker price. You should ask around 87-93K.

no...the new MSRP was 120k. He'll sell it to me for 90K. I'm just wondering if I should ask for another 5k off due to the high miles (not really that high...but still more than most 03 turbos).

Cool Buy mine, Pritam,

I PM'd you about it. It's already totally tricked out. Not much need for anything else. Although, the running gear is still totally stock, so if 450 hp isn't enough for you, well.....

This is what I really want:

Shot this at a board member's house, and rode in it twice now!

that's on the CGT as well. put the SIM card in the car & all the speakers are all good to go. it's a phone... through the sound system!

90k is a good deal, I'd offer 85k then see what he says.

Love the cell phone idea
