KW3 Coils vs. PSS10's ...... School me.
 

Anyone have any experience with both? I'd love to hear feedback. Car will not be driven on the track ...... at least not often. I've got a dedicated ride for that. Just need something that can cope with the added power adequately.

I believe Sears has some air shocks.

PSS10 that you could likely regret if you try to track it or lower it significantly.

If you want an economical solution, I am taking my PSS9's off my car in about a week and a half. They have 5000 miles on them. You can have them for $1400. PSS9's are a great street shock and can be adjusted to suit your preference. I needed something more for the track. I bought some Motons. PM me if interested.

I've come away with the feeling that most just want to say GET THE DAMN MOTONS! Need to look into Motons now.

If you're positive you'll never track, or track much, PSS9's or PSS10's should be ok. JIC's are weak for the street IMO, too stiff and bouncy. I've heard the same about the KW's. The PSS9/10 will fill the street role fine, but they won't cut it on the track. The motons are the best of both worlds but overkill for just street work. And they could require some maintenance occasionally. I know if I was street driving I wouldn't want anything that could require maintenance which is why my vote goes to PSS9/10. But only if you're SURE you won't go on the track. But you could always sell them and upgrade to motons later.

I really don't enjoy driving my turbo on the track. It is fun but not as fun as something purpose built which I have readily accessible. I need to look into the differences between the 9's and 10's and weigh my options more closely. I'm not necessarily trying to pinch pennies but i've had an overkill suspension on the street before and it was more headache than it was worth. If the 9's or 10's will satisfy my handling needs for the street thats all i'm really interested in.

I've got the KW's on my 996, and at the middle setting I feel like they're bouncy. When I get my car back in the shop I plan to soften them just a bit to see how they feel. I was looking to lower the car slightly and take some body roll out in the corners, and went with just coilovers at first. Found out that I had all kinds of clearance issues as a result, and went with the KW's at Tym Switzer's suggestion.

I'd suggest giving some of the pro's a call and see what they say... I've found that they're all more than willing to give you all kinds of suggestions :)

I'm running the PSS9s and can't say a bad thing about them for street use..better handling, nicer ride, easy to adjust. Its when I went to the track that I was a little disappointed with them.

i had the pss9 and hated them ,especialy if you try and lower it some what decent . i have the JIC's now along with tons of other things. the JIC 's are good but even at the softeste setting they are stiff !!! if the roads are good they feel and drive awesome , but if they have the slightest little bump you can feel it big time..

how about JRZ's ? i heard nothing but good stuff about them, a bit cheaper then motons but just as good ?

drive my car. You can tell me what you think. You've got more experience with different suspensions. I only know stock and PSS10's. I love the new ride.

I have PSS10's and am not happy with them. They have way too much bounce on whatever setting they are at. I've raised the car, stiffened them, made them softer, etc... and the front still bounces all over the place. How can i find out if it is normal or not? Is there any place that services them besides bilstein?

Interesting. I don't have the same issue. Has your car been properly corner balanced and aligned? I have removed the front drive and spare and no bounce.
